oh, this thread is about soccer.

I'm a diehard soccer fan and you're just skewing statistics. Those numbers mean little because the whole country was surprised to see America advance to the 2nd round. Soccer isn't becoming more popular in America, nor are we going to have more skilled players. This whole "we're getting better" nonsense has been going on for decades. Until we start playing this sport and putting it on the level of basketball and football, we'll always be a 2nd rate soccer country.
