the success of the cap means this is not the case.

the testing over the last few days was to check if the cap caused oil to gush from any fissures. the fact the tests are positive suggest/mean there are no fissure leaks.

thus my comment about that earlier eh. :thumbsup

mynameisjim 07-15-2010 01:33 PM

They are testing the pressure now. They won't know if the well is holding for about a day. The earlier tests were just preliminary to get to this point to do the real test.

Can someone explain this to me. Remember the very first video footage released by BP of the leak. The image was of some broken pipe sticking out of the ground. Since then, the picture was of a pipe on top of a huge structure.

Were there two separate leaks because if you search youtube for both videos, those two images are totally different and show different structures.

Clean_Franck 07-15-2010 01:36 PM

Does this mean share price will go up do you think?

It was mentioned by Matt Simmons from the start that the oil was leaking in gargantuan proportions 6 miles away and the reason why the amount of oil estimated in the gulf could not have been created by that small pipe alone.

Yeah, but that dude is a little crazy so I was hoping that someone else could confirm it. But the video images are clearly different so maybe he is right. There could be a secondary leak and BP could easily keep it totally quite.

This is what I mean, this image is nothing like the riser they have been working on and have now sealed. Were there two leaks?

"BP is also resuming work on a relief well that has 30ft left to drill before it hits the original leaking well. Once the wells intersect, mud and cement will be used to permanently deal with the leak. "

Im not sure if this is a good or bad time to get in. $26 maybe, $36.... not sure.

Spyce 07-19-2010 09:34 AM

Doesn't anyone think it's odd that with all that oil spewing up everything around it was clean? The water wasn't even murky. James Cameron should get an Academy Award for the performance he's been pulling off since they hired him on as an "expert" in the beginning.

Here we go.... conspiracy theory eat your heart out.

Kiopa_Matt 07-19-2010 03:17 PM

No worries, if it doesn't hold they can try one of their really scientific sounding methods again... junk shot, top hat, pot shot...

AdultKing 07-19-2010 03:22 PM

Problem with all this is, you cannot have an oil hungry country that complains when extracting oil leads to a major problem. Drilling is dangerous to the environment. If you want oil, live with and then deal with the risks.
