creepy guy running teen site & Jelena Jensens elite programming skills
Is this dude running these teen gossip sites a gfy user?
http://gawker.com/5593179/stickydrama-the-teen-gossip-blog-run-by-a-31+year+old-pornographer?skyline=true&s=i Jelena Jensen got some props from Gawker. Says here she does all her own programming and what not. Even though one of the people that commented on it points out the fact she is putting tables inside tables. I still think its pretty cool. Also this must be getting her a shitload of page views. Gawker has a lot of traffic... Congrats on the free advertisement :) http://gizmodo.com/5592615/explosive-pornstar-by-day-nerdy-programmer-by-night |

A 3 column css layout and html code is more bytes than a 3 column table html code. |

Tables and CSS go together... one is formatting, one is styling... |
I put tables inside tables all day long nigga! :thumbsup
|
I put tables inside tables and my income hasn't gone down a penny...in fact, I'm on pace for a pretty damn good year..........but then again, I'm not out to win design awards, I just want to make money...

I also needed to use data- properties (which I use for some JS)... Whoopdie-fuckin-do ... Still doesn't change the fact that tables are not good for layout... My site looks and functions fine in IE8, IE9, FF, Chrome, and Opera on Windows and Safari, FF, and Chrome on OS X... that's good enough for me (for a temp page) ;) |
ooooh fuck i thinking me on another planete :upsidedow

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> |

CSS example 548 characters
Table example 470 characters Now duplicate that across an entire website Plus you forgot to add formatting for the various IE bugs in your CSS example Also keep in mind if if you used a seperate .css thats loading 2 files instead of 1 These are all penalties for search engines but using a table is never a penalty Quote:

Jelena Jensen was named in this thread and you all are talking about css and tables.
Is this a gay board? |

Dont be mad... You will fruitlessly try to convince others of your theory because thats all it is. |

Consumers don't care. You can CSS the fuck up until your balls fall off, it won't make you a penny more. This is like saying, Ford uses one set of tools to make their cars, Chevy uses another. Well guess what, they are both just cars and people why buy them regardless of what tools are used to make them. You're just being a nerd. |

Table in a table is not a problem.

Also, there is no various IE bugs in my CSS example. That code would work all the way back to IE4 and probably further. You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Anyway, here is my point as to once you start adding more to the layout, tables become more bloated. In the example, I will add just one single block to each column. Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> |
