Busted router... any recommendations?
Link me up to some good routers. My old linksys finally kicked it.

Since linksys is Cisco, probably a new one.

WRT54G/WRT54GL with DD-WRT is GREAT and cheap
|
Do not get the WRT610N I hate it.
This being the problem http://homecommunity.cisco.com/t5/Wi...ion/m-p/289397 |

However I believe they have some newer "N" models which are working with dd-wrt. This might be a better bet to take advantage of newer technology. Just make sure to use a compatible development build. Check the forums: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/ |

This time I bought a Motorola modem and a Linksys E2000. |

I run it on 3 WRT54G's. |
go for the linksys/cisco pro range...that is a very solid product
|
Get an N Class router. Anything less just plain sucks.
|
Thats funny because I just got done trouble shooting an issue with my wrt54gs. Appears to be a heat related problem. I am going to shut it down for the night and keep things cool around it tomorrow. If that fails I am going Wireless N for certain.
|
anything but D-LINK ... their site sux, their support sux, their products suck
|
linksucks has non english support, ran me up thefuckinwall more than i like to remember! GL in your next solid purchase

I seem have the WORST damn luck ever with routers for some reason... :disgust
|
Routers die on me at least every 18 months.

My Linksys router crapped out on me a while back, so I bought a D-Link Xtreme N Gaming Router and I love it !!
http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-DGL-450...30138&sr =8-1 It's $156.98 at Amazon.com It's a wonderful router especially if you have a house like mine where I'm on the main pc, the wife is on the laptop and my 3 kids are all playing COD on their Xbox 360s at the same time, no lag at all. |
I have an N class Apple 'Time Capsule' (combo router & built in hdd for backup) running for nigh on 3 years now, not a single problem. Steady as a rock. :thumbsup
|
I have the Netgear wnr3500 wireless N.
Easy to set up and works great for my laptops. |
we have the netgear wndr3700 and its been great
|
i replaced mine recently and returned a couple until i got the billion bipac 7800n. its really good with a gigabit lan, wireless n and its very stable. it can work with cable or adsl too which is a bonus.

I'm definitely going to go with an N router, but I wanted to stay in the linksys/cisco family.
|
I am far from an Apple fan but like my Airport Express... Since it's so small I take it travelling and split my hotel connection so we don't have to pay for 2 laptops. Using it right now at Embassy Suites in Tampa :1orglaugh
