How to increase traffic/sign ups on your paysite?

Hi All,

I'm looking for your advices, recommendations, experiences, how a sponsor can convince webmaters/affiliates to promote a site or network.

What do you guys need? What kind of tools or promotions are you get crazy to have?

Where you can get affiliates and quality traffic in the most efficient way? (TGP, Review, Blog, Tube etc.)

It's our common interest to discuss and improve business! Let's start the brainstorm.

crazytrini85 08-05-2010 04:21 AM

I think with so many programs not paying affiliates that it may be a little tough right not to earn their trust.

Agent 488 08-05-2010 04:25 AM

you have a couple nice sites in there. may try you out. just don't disappear with the money. thed rest can be worked around.

Richard Eston 08-05-2010 05:30 AM

Appreciate your trust. Btw, it would be a nice move to disappear with that size...

adultebusiness 08-05-2010 05:47 AM

I agree. Trust is key. Building a reputation is one of the most patience demanding forms of discipline, but it can be done. If you are into affiliate marketing, try promoting another's site by placing their links on your sites. Again, patience is important. Pls. check out hhtp://www.dirtypaycheck.com and pls. don't disappear off the face of the earth.
Kind Regards

TheDoc 08-05-2010 06:10 AM

Here are a few basic things...
  1. Update your paysites and make sure affiliates know the sites update.
  2. Provide fresh promo material regularly for affiliates.
  3. Have a resource page and exchange links with resource sites, lists and other programs/companies.
  4. Submit press releases to news sites.
  5. Be active in the q&a forums, it's a great way to build trust.
  6. Contact your currently affiliates directly to see if you can help out.
  7. Direct contact new affiliates that match your niches.
  8. Be cool, be helpful and respond to questions quickly.

spazlabz 08-05-2010 06:16 AM

There simply is no magic key, no gee whiz tool you can add that will pull in affiliates. I have found that a lot of webmasters will give a new sponsor a solid 'trial run' that could turn into a sweet long term business relationship, here are some things to keep in mind

have good affiliate support, answer e mails and ICQ as soon as you see them - doing this means you wont 'forget' them and let those messages stew. Having an ICQ or e mail ignored will piss off an affiliate very quickly. This way you do not forget and you look like the most on the ball affiliate manager/program owner on the planet. Believe me when I say affiliates really appreciate this

Pay on time - I should not have to say this but it is becoming more and more obvious there are some in the biz that are not doing this. Send out your payments on time every time and this will build up a good rep for you... which to me just seems so silly that doing what you're supposed to do benefits you so much but it does. And be flexible with payments, sometimes affiliates may need some special consideration, dont be a hard ass about it.

Respect your affiliates in theory and practice. Yeah, a whale will make your lips pucker up in a heartbeat and their ass is a gorgeous target. But small affiliate deserve your lovin too. Never get so big that you get comfortable not taking a small time affiliate seriously. Every whale you will meet started with a single site and shit for traffic.

Be as flexible as possible in getting an affiliate something they need. Be reasonable with what you promise an affiliate, sometimes saying 'I'm sorry I am unable to do that right now' is the best answer and never ever say 'I am working on it' if you're not

That is about the best I have for ya right now... I would add that being a regular fixture on GFY is not a bad idea to increase your visibility but that seems too obvious for words. I hope that helps

If you are looking for affiliates, I have several niched spots open for programs to advertise directly to adult webmasters running sites in the niches your paysites are in. You can see more information here.

They are affordable, they are targeted, and they are great long term exposure for a program to get news, promos, and information to webmasters pushing their niches they want traffic in.

The Heron 08-05-2010 06:46 AM

Anyone else think its ironic the 'affiliate manager' is asking this question?

Richard Eston 08-05-2010 07:14 AM

Yes, thank you! All words are appreciated and helpful!

There is no magic bullet to getting more traffic. And even if you get it, it does not follow you will keep getting it and you can make money from it. If you think that's not true you must be in denial or a real newb.

The only way to get and keep getting new traffic, while staying in business because traffic can be very expensive, is to convert that traffic. At a profit.

If you can do that the traffic you have will keep coming, the webmasters will send more and the news will get around that you're a good site to send traffic to.

All the rest is expensive window dressing if your site does not convert.

Richard Eston 08-06-2010 12:19 AM

Why is so ironic? Do you hate money or what?

Of course, if you have more than two brain cells, you know there is no miracle. This thread is here to discover today's claims and expectations. I'd like to know what do you - affiliates - need, and of course I'd like to see the obstacles that stop you and us to make money in the business.

The key is the common interest and fair play. Otherwise, I agree with you.

Richard. From my experience on the Net affiliates will ask for anything they can think about. Even down to sponsors submitting links, galleries or anything else they can think of.

But in reality the only thing they really want is a site that converts better than their existing sites and getting paid on time.

Today sales are tough, get them and the traffic will follow. No one will send traffic to a site that doesn't convert, loads will send traffic to a site that makes them money.

Richard Eston 08-06-2010 07:48 AM

Yes, you are right, but somewhere it's obvious too. By the way, we have a a good conversion if we look our big partners. Anyway, we would like to do everything...

Richard Eston 08-07-2010 08:02 AM

And what do you think what is the best source of affiliates?

- forums,
- direct contct via their pages after a google search,
etc.

I started promoting you guys a few months ago. Found you like I find all sites I promote. By surfing some competitors free sites and looking around at the hosted galleries they have running.

I clicked on one of your galleries for nude fight club and liked it. Then I checked out your other sites and liked them. It really is just that simple for me.

If a paysite makes my dick hard...I want to promote it. :)

pornstar2fag 08-07-2010 08:21 AM

Put your full scenes on pornhub.

Richard Eston 08-07-2010 06:57 PM

Always good to hear kind words from satisfied affiliates, so thank you for your post.

On the other hand we are here to progress, learn more and to get to know new possibilities to be better. I'm not complaining, we are not the smallest company, but there is no perfection, so don't spare us just keep going with criticism and advices. Both are welcome...

Exactly right. What I ask for most is a proper landing page for my traffic. It converts well, but I'm always looking for a better pay model with a site that converts. A sponsor may have a killer site and members area and do great rebills, but if surfers bounce of the front door then what is the sense? Each site's traffic is unique and we need some variety in our landing pages and when we voice this it should be taken seriously.

Please don't take this the wrong way and think we're sending the wrong kind of traffic. I'm talking about sending another sponsosor the same traffic, selling the same niche, and packaged almost the same way, and converting well. Then you come along (just an example) and offer a better payout model so I decide to give you a try, send you my traffic, just to see my bounce rate hit the ceiling. Since everything is pretty much the same, I will contact you about the issue to see what can be done about it. Is this making any sense? I'm speaking from a small affiliate's view and I'm in that situation now. (small rant)

A good affiliate will have a clue about what a site will do for him. Those throwing mud at a wall because you have every tool you can think of are not quality guys. So.

A. Content that's a step above the rest.
B. A tour that shows that.
C. A site that's not cloned off 10,000 other site on the Net.

Then you need to be paying them. :winkwink:

Getting good affiliates is a hard process. Good ones are hard to find and persuade without something they know or think will convert. And there's no fast way to do it.

Paul Markham 08-08-2010 03:35 AM

I took a look at some of your sites and here's an observation as a porn lover. Nicely designed sites and very professionally put together. Good Quality tour on first glance.

The previews that are at the top of the page really need to be improved. The "Glam" ones are not horny enough and didn't give me an incentive to buy. The music pissed me off the most, then the 5 second clips and the over all effect was it was not something I would risk me money on.

A short clip from the movie might work a lot better, let the surfer see what 1-5 minutes of a scene is about rather than jumping from 5 second to clip to 5 second clip.

The reality site was too anonymous for my tastes. Again it went from short clip to short clip.

IMO you need to give affiliates traffic something that will make the surfers sit up and take notice.

Paul Markham 08-08-2010 08:03 AM

Here's a bit of b2b selling 101.

Getting a good repeat customer (affiliate) to change from an existing supplier (sponsor) to a knew one is a tough job. You're basically waiting for for the existing sponsor to screw up.

Or you have to show in no uncertain terms how he will benefit from switching to you. And that in this case, is showing him he will earn more money and have an easier life going to you. So can you pay him more, can you convert his traffic better, can you supply him better tools and above all can you make his life a bit easier?

If you can't answer yes to all those questions you're in for a hard job.

Richard Eston 08-09-2010 12:44 AM

For all your posts, first of all thank you!

My short opinion is, that you do have a proper and complete image of the biz, but after all in this level, you cannot know how a sponsor will performance under your traffic, just if you try it. You could have a clue, but you cannot know.

This is because you are trying to reach our site from a country which has restricted access. For a solution I advice to use hidemyass.com which is an online free proxy service.

True. Are you asking people to send you some "Test" traffic?

That could be a lot of work and a gamble. And a decent affiliate would have a very good idea. Give people better reasons than "Test us out."

Richard Eston 08-10-2010 09:03 AM

This is a little misunderstand. We cannot talk about gambling and testing. We can offer our reputation, which is according to the size of the company and the feedbacks as from the webmasters as from the members is quite good.
We are talking about 6 millions of visitors per month and more than 60 websites. After that and those years in the biz, I think we can ask a little attention and trust.

So it's not just an empty reason. On the othe hand, yes we are here to ask you about your needs. What else a sponsor can offer?

then you're providing the wrong message from the very start. Instead of trying to find a way to monetize traffic and give your affiliates a chance, you're telling them a good portion of the traffic they may send to you will be lost. You should work on that, you seem to have some nice sites and content. Hit me up on mail webmaster + fdsign + com if you need any help, we work in improving programs' performance and have many tools you can use :)

DanielS 08-10-2010 01:25 PM

We're going to buy in bulk 100 cheap chinese time machines configured to go back to 1996. Let me know if you're interested :P

I think you should offer some payout % increase for the site owners if they decide to add a batch of hosted galleries promoting your sites. This is a nice way to have their attention and they will give your program at least, a try.

Richard Eston 08-11-2010 07:11 AM

All sites are restricted to reach from Hungary, our 3 teen sites from Russia and our shemale network from Thailand.

That's it. If you are in China maybe it's forbidden to access the sites too.

No, all of Latin America is excluded, I live in Argentina and tested your sites with several proxies from Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela. Thus, even though I didn't test other countries, I'm pretty sure you are using the regular package of 'blocked countries' (Latin America, Africa and most of Asia) which denies access to around 50% of the web. You may think you won't make money with those countries (if so, that's wrong, you'll make a lot less, but still very nice money if you have volume) but you're also losing the traffic for yourself, ie you aren't even redirecting, just blocking

Other than that, very nice sites, we really should work something out :winkwink:
