Wall Street 2 or The Social Network?

I'm trying to decide which of these two movies I should go to tonight.

Wall Street 2 or The Social Network?

Any thoughts?

No spoilers please.

Wall street 2

beerptrol 10-02-2010 01:51 PM

no question about it, Wall Street 2

IllTestYourGirls 10-02-2010 01:52 PM

If I had to pick Wall Street 2. But if those were my choices Id stay home.

BFT3K 10-02-2010 01:58 PM

Most review sites seem to be HEAVILY favoring The Social Network over Wall Street 2.

Has anyone actually seen them both yet?

Wall Street 2 could be one of the shittiest movies ever made and I'd still rather see that than The Social Network. I've not seen either.

Not yet, I have a few others higher on my list and will eventually get to those two. Ill probably watch Wall Street 2 in the theaters and rent Social Network. But if I had to pick It would be Wall Street 2 to see what shit Gordon Gekko was getting into this time.

TidalWave 10-02-2010 02:29 PM

Wall Street 2 was alright, better than going to watch stupid facebook movie

J. Falcon 10-02-2010 02:40 PM

I would see Wall Street 2.

Paul&John 10-02-2010 03:24 PM

Definitely Wall Street 2 :)

CYF 10-02-2010 03:26 PM

Saw the Social Network last night, it was pretty decent.

icymelon 10-02-2010 03:27 PM

wall street 2 was good. not as good as the original. good for a sequel. I really loved the town. if thats not an option I would give social network a try. I'm going tomorrow

skrog 10-02-2010 04:11 PM

The Social Network was better. Go see Let Me In instead.

The Demon 10-02-2010 04:28 PM

The Social Network is for the new generation of stupid Americans who know nothing about social networks. Then again, I'm afraid BFT3K won't understand the mechanics of Wall Street 2 so better see the Social Network!

CaptainHowdy 10-02-2010 06:09 PM

Ga'Hoole all the way!

fris 10-02-2010 06:17 PM

wall street for sure

topsiteking 10-02-2010 07:36 PM

Wall street 2

sweetcuties 10-02-2010 07:38 PM

I saw The Social Network last night, amazing movie! Haven't seen Wall Street yet... maybe next week :winkwink:

AlCapone 10-02-2010 07:47 PM

The Social Network was better than Wall Street 2.

BFT3K 10-02-2010 08:35 PM

I went to see The Social Network, but I guess it wasn't meant to be... it was sold out.

Watched Fargo on DVD instead - never saw it before. It was okay...

mgtarheels 10-02-2010 08:41 PM

Haven't seen social network, but Wall Street 2 was VERY good.

react 10-03-2010 07:21 AM

Greed is good.

The Demon 10-03-2010 07:38 AM

Wall Street 2 was good but nothing compared to the first one. This was a watered down version of economics for the typical stupid American who came to see a drama between Shia Labeouf and his girlfriend.

Just to clarify, the Social Network isn't as much about Facebook, as it is the backstabbing and conniving behind the scenes during its creation. I have zero interest in Facebook, but it was an amazing movie -- David Fincher never disappoints.

Wall Street is one of my favorite movies, but 2 sucked ass. hard to believe it was an Oliver Stone movie.

gmr324 10-03-2010 12:37 PM

Saw and loved Social Network, but may pass on Wall Street 2 based on the shitty reviews

qwe 10-03-2010 12:53 PM

wall street was garbage and i'm into finance and all that...

Konkan 10-03-2010 02:47 PM

any torrent links about these movies ???

Yeah, I'm going to avoid Wall Street 2. Next week I'll make another attempt to see The Social Network. Trying to go on opening weekend was a bad decision, but next weekend should be okay.

Stomped 10-03-2010 05:39 PM

It's amazing how much hate there's against The Social Network..
I think it's because some webmasters here are bitter that some young punk got more success than them and they tend to backlash anything that is related to Facebook, even if they don't have a clue what's about. The film is having rave reviews, the director is awesome, so is the screenwriter.

Wall Street 2, on the other hand, looks like shit, just like everything Oliver Stone has done in the past 15 years.

Klen 10-03-2010 08:07 PM

Saw details about social network, there is one funny sentence in movie "in Bosnia there is more facebook users then roads"

Paul Markham 10-04-2010 01:56 AM

We saw Wall Street 2 last week. Very good film. Shitty soppy ending, but still a good film. Haven't seen Social Network yet and will see it soon.

jgabra62 10-04-2010 04:08 AM

Please dont bother with either one of those movies...you will be sorely disappointed.

Saw Wall street 2 on Saturday, very disappointing.
Go so The Social Network.

tabasco 10-28-2010 01:40 AM

Saw The Social Network today and wow... a really good film with some really good performances. It wasn't something I was considering seeing as I thought it was a 'Facebook The Movie' kind of deal, but it is so much more than that.

Wall Street 2 was a massive disappointment. Don't know what they were thinking (apart from a quick buck that is)

I see you have no problem voicing your opinion over fact, but yet rip others for having an opinion. Wall street 2 had better reviews over TSN.

I on the other hand would rather see non-chick flicks.

Blowhard.. :321GFY

NetHorse 10-28-2010 02:22 AM

The social network all the way, and then when you get home, pirates of silicone valley. :)

It's amazing how these guys essentially stole ideas and concepts from other people / companies to make billions.

Mark Zuckerberg, who built thefacebook while agreeing to work on a similar site for 2 other students.

Bill Gates who bought DOS for $50 from some geek working out of his garage then licensed it to IBM. Then later tricked Steve Jobbs into getting Macintosh prototypes to develop Windows.

Steve Jobs, who built the Macintosh GUI with a mouse from technology developed by Xerox, (a company that so no value in the technology and essentially gave it away).

Now someone needs to create a documentary on how Google was founded and created. :)

Where does Wall Street 2 have "better reviews"? No respectable place I have seen. The movie was lame... and that is being generous.

madawgz 10-28-2010 02:31 AM

wall street was kinda boring at times, havnt seen facebook yet

anexsia 10-28-2010 05:04 AM

They were both pretty good but I would choose Wall Street 2 over The Social Network.

fatfoo 10-28-2010 05:51 AM

Here's a joke for someone who has never been to Wall Street:

I wonder if it is a wall named street or a street named wall.

Davy 10-28-2010 06:06 AM

Wall street 2 was boring. Have not seen the network, but I do not find it appealing, either.

CaptainHowdy 10-28-2010 06:07 AM

I don't give a cock...

GTS Mark 10-28-2010 06:33 AM

I haven't seen Wall Street 2 yet but i thought the social network was actually pretty decent.

DamianJ 10-28-2010 06:36 AM

EVERYONE thinks the social network is meh and then they see it and think FUCKING WOW THAT WAS A BRILLIANT MOVIE.

Aaron Sorkin doesn't do shit work.

Forget it's about facebook, forget the fact they play fast and loose with the historical facts, just go and enjoy a really brilliantly written movie.

thickcash_amo 10-28-2010 06:41 AM

I vote Social Network.....it was good!

quiet 10-28-2010 07:13 AM

social network was a very good film. i have no desire to see a botched version of wall street.

Barefootsies 10-28-2010 07:14 AM

I've watched them both, and neither were all that impressive.
:2 cents:

John-ACWM 10-28-2010 09:34 AM

Didn't see any of those 2 but I guess it would depend on my state of mind, they both look very good from the trailers.
