Best photoshop replacement..
 

Any suggestions for a photoshop replacement that is free and has similar capabilities to PShop? I know its hard to compare to but anything you suggest is really appreciated. Prefer free or open source.

Can you run Gimp on windows?

You can run Gimp in windows. It's about as close as you're going to get to PS, but it takes getting used to.

GIMP is pretty cool

like everybody said, the closest to a free PS option is Gimp. It's pretty cool and you could compare its features more or less with PS7, which is not bad at all for free software

there's also a gimpshop that has the menus similar to photoshop so it's easier to get accustomed to :2 cents:

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking for a mac alternative. I assume gimp will work :)
