iPhone 4 Back glass shattered!
 

I was talking on the iphone4 earlier today and dropped it. The back glass shattered BIG TIME! It just so happens I took the case off it today to stick in the charger.

I decided to head into the Apple store to see what they suggested. At first the offered to replace the back glass for $29 or replace the phone (32gb model) for $199. I countered and then he offered to replace the phone for $99. I thought about it, but deferred to the $29 replacement option. 5 minutes later the guy returns and tells me that I will not be charged after he talked to "the guys in back"

Needless to say I am EXTREMELY happy with Apples service. It's the first time I have had a problem with any of Apples products and they really stepped up to the plate!

Apple have always supported there products 100%. They really look after you from the start right through to the end. Wether you buy or have an issue. There support is the best.

Im happy you ended with a good result. You must have been pissed when you dropped it!

Apple used to be a pain to deal with regarding dead pixels on their macbooks. It was annoying to buy a new laptop and have dead pixels that Apple would refuse to do anything about.
I agree they are better these days.

The glass is cheap on eBay and easy to install.

Yeah I saw the glass on ebay for $13. But FREE from apple is even better.

The iphone4 shatters and breaks. That is unfortunate.

Phones get dropped all the time, shouldn't break anything.

There was a report out that said the iPhone4 was more fragile than its predecessors in terms of glass breaks...

In any case, yeah Apple support is top notch. My story was about 8-10 years ago, they replaced my 6 year old Powerbook G4 with a completely new one when I was calling in for a problem with a new Powerbook I had and happened to mention a recurring problem I had with my wife's Powerbook... They repaired my laptop under guarantee and said send in the old one to have their techs look at it... when it came back, it was the same gen laptop as mine - brand new (or refurb who cares).

Wife was very happy cos she's always getting my "hand-me-downs"!

I wouldn't expect less from apple.....

Well, at least you get free "insurance" when you pay Apple's premium prices...
