Anybody got a light?

mlove 11-10-2010 09:33 AM

i'm gonna make a collage out of them.

Randy West 11-10-2010 09:37 AM

Good, and as a matter of fact I do have a light. Mind if I bum a smoke? :1orglaugh

I am sure the tobacco companies are loving this :upsidedow

charlie g 11-10-2010 09:42 AM

I quit smoking over 10 years ago. This shit would never have made me stop. Maybe it will stop some from starting......

kristin 11-10-2010 09:44 AM

These type of warnings have been on cigarettes in Canada for awhile now and yet it seems to not deter anyone from smoking.

botfurom 11-10-2010 09:44 AM

Government Warning!! Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health.

spazlabz 11-10-2010 09:48 AM

I know this isnt a political thread but this seems like silly regulation. School children are warned about the dangers of smoking so this is not informative at all. Maybe look at regulating the ingredients in the product but this is just turd polishing at its best :2 cents:

interesting how alcohol or fast food or soda or candy companies don't have any of these warning labels...

"Warning: drinking high quantities of sugared water regularly causes obesity, diabetes and heart diseases"

Never thought of it like that :1orglaugh

Something similar has been on the packets in the UK for years.

tranza 11-10-2010 12:25 PM

These type of warnings have been in Brazil for almost a decade now.

:2 cents:

JD 11-10-2010 12:28 PM

so fucking stupid. they should put pictures of smashed bodies on cars, diseased livers on alcohol bottles, and so on down the line.

EVERYTHING IS BAD FOR YOU. Just don't abuse shit and you're fine.

BFT3K 11-10-2010 12:32 PM

I don't think the warnings are graphic enough, to be honest.

Besides, how the fuck can the government state that marijuana should be illegal because it does not pose any health benefits, while cigarettes, which are PROVEN to be addictive, poisonous, and deadly, are allowed to REMAIN legal?!

Scott McD 11-10-2010 12:35 PM

If the government didin't want people to smoke, they would ban them...

Better late than never.

Calico Jack 11-10-2010 12:52 PM

You should see the ones we have here in Australia!

Tom_PM 11-10-2010 12:56 PM

Ny state has had the disgusting tv ads already for years. The most recent one shows them squeezing all the artery clogging plaque from an aorta. Truly genuinely disgusting and I would vchip those everytime if I knew how.

I quit after my heart attack. You should quit before yours. Nothing else to say really.

leg4 11-10-2010 01:01 PM

If you don't smoke Tarrylton's.... Fuck you!

BIGTYMER 11-10-2010 02:03 PM

http://llamabutchers.mu.nu/blackadder.jpg

Fuck the Gov. They have to put their mark on fucking everything.

Like smokers don't already know its bad?

BIGTYMER 11-10-2010 02:05 PM

I've got an idea. Lets allow gambling and put all the profits into our failing school system. Then once it passes we'll redirect all the profits to our pet projects.

Oh, wait. Thats what they're doing now. Fucking crooks.

HomerSimpson 11-10-2010 02:10 PM

they should put that shit also on meat products, sweets, sodas...

DWB 11-10-2010 03:19 PM

We've had those (and worse) in Thailand for years now. Doesn't work.

Though I have to admit, if they put posters inside every whore house of people dying of AIDS, I would wear a rubber. So I'm not sure why such graphic images doesn't curb smoking.

Makes us smoke more to prove them wrong.

Of course, it won't work :1orglaugh

Federal drug regulators on Wednesday unveiled 36 proposed warning labels for cigarette packages, including one showing a toe tag on a corpse and another in which a mother blows smoke on her baby.
OMG! They should caption that "YOUR CRYING: DO NOT WANT" or something like that.

PornMD 11-10-2010 08:30 PM

Here's what I'd submit for them to use:

http://www.nametrader.com/packtrap.jpg

Connor 11-10-2010 08:38 PM

If they put "IF YOU SMOKE THIS PACK YOU WILL FUCKING DIE!!" people would still smoke.

rogueteens 11-10-2010 09:53 PM

we have had warnings like them in the Uk for quite a while now.

carzygirls 11-10-2010 10:23 PM

This is fucking horse shit... why can't I just buy my occasional cig without being forced to view other's people perceptions, and likely fears of death, down my throat.

What is the number one cause of death? Doesn't matter because it is not from smoking.

Ok here's a stat... 160,000 americans die in a car accident a year. Maybe a big "death in a car" sticker should be put on the inside of the windshield?

Lol... government again intervening on big biz... "big brother"

MasterM 11-11-2010 03:37 AM

maybe they can find some new pics on rotten.com also. for car accidents , cigs , guns

Lukke 11-11-2010 03:43 AM

Intelligent people dont smoke.

the reason that there will never be serious regulation is because the government makes HELLA money with cigarettes. If everyone would stop tomorrow the taxes would rise like a motherfucker because the hole it would smash in government earnings would be enormous.

Paul Markham 11-11-2010 05:01 AM

Being addicted to nicotine and living in the States is a real problem. So many places you can't smoke.

I kicked the habit 2 years ago and never regretted it. If I go down to the pub I have to wash all my clothes afterwards. They reek of tobacco smoke. :disgust

The Goverment : treating the public like children since 1776

Dodododa 11-11-2010 05:19 AM

When I was 12 the teacher did like a month of anti-smoking work with us. The ENTIRE class started smoking because of that. I'm not exaggerating, even the nerdy little girls from strict families began smoking.

When the unit ended the teacher said, "Now we're going to do alcohol." The whole class yelled out "Noooo!" So she canceled it. I have a feeling she knew the damage she had done.

Most of us stopped smoking soon after the anti-smoking unit ended. Some of my friends went on to pot and were drug fucked by the time they were 14.
