I'm pretty sure the average porn surfer in 2010 gets sent to a paysite then immediately uses google (or direct to tube site) to find pirate tubes, torrents, and file sharing links to get the content free. Unless your content isn't coming up on these they probably aren't going to ever buy.

This is the only way to explain conversion ratios in the thousands with non-forced targeted traffic. Otherwise why would they even click the link in the first place? All they are doing now is trying to find out what keywords to use to find the pirated content free. You and your paysite and affiliates are functioning as nothing more than a "keyword finder". :disgust

yes even with targeted search traffic the ratios now are crazy bad for some sites/programs.

Sponsor thinking: "Hmmm how can i fix this?"
Lawyer answer: "Its easy dcma affiliates using your name to promote you, and for the other get so unreliable with your payouts that they will just drop you. That way, you can have the rebills and you wont have to compete with those pesky affiliates for top 10 spots on the search engines, or answer those time consuming emails. Most of them will not have any legal recourse to get their monies anyways...Oh and the torrents and tubes will get the other 9 spots but dont worry with all the extra revenue you get you can still pay me and your hosting bill. I'd laugh if it weren't so sad. Actually I think a lot of the screwing of affiliates and taking rebills has more to do with survival and being the low hanging fruit. When you need that money to survive it's tempting to tell affiliates to fuck off and justify stealing their rebills. It's the short term way to survive anyway but it wouldn't be necessary if you had a clue instead on how to run a real legitimate long term business.

I'm going to be very raw here. I'm not a mensa member myself but this industry is filled with idiots. On one end you have sponsors who have zero business sense and operate like used car salesmen or those involved in some kind of ponzi scheme. On the other end you have stupid, naive, and gullible affiliates who don't have a clue about anything. The two feed off of one another. The exceptions are few and far between and the industry as a whole is now paying for it.

Also, many user forums are training members how to get shit for free from the tubes and later, on their own, they embed and "share"

Canned porn is on the way out. Microniche and EXPERIENCE-based entertainment aren't going anywhere though.
