WikiLeaks: Sweden to issue int'l warrant for Assange
STOCKHOLM ? The elusive Australian behind the biggest leak of U.S. war documents in history is wanted by Sweden in a drawn-out rape probe, and could soon face an international arrest warrant curtailing his ability to jump from one country to another.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_sweden_wikileaks How much do you want to bet it's a setup to get him put away? It's dirty business out there... |
i thought they dropped these charges...
anyway, the cat is out of the bag now, so his site will continue on now even without him.. i wonder if they will torture him to get him to name his sources.. outing his sources would def get people to become nervous about submitting docs.. . |
watch for the faked suicide. the end.

His lawyer is saying that their evidence isn't enough to get him put away. Once you're caught up they'll finding something to pin you on. You're right, it's going to hinder his progress in many ways if the charges don't stick.
|
let see how will they finish his story
|
|
Good timing on theses charges...
|
They'll get him in the end, he's angered a lot of powerful people. Strange that they are not this keen to get Bin Laden...
Look what happens if you speak out against the Iraq war, David Kelly 'killed himself' in a woods and Robin Cook had a 'heart attack' while hill walking. |
CIA is probably really working, good for you americans :) But really, it was only matter of time until they will get him, "suicide" or "accident" would be probably too obvious, so they found other way. It is really funny that western countries are not so different from Russia or China when it comes to this stuff.

this should get interesting

In my view, it's not about the content of the documents per se, since from my understanding, most, if not all, of the leaked documents are way below "top secret" and "secret". Probably most are internal agency documents of little national security value. Did the documents, on the whole, reveal any new information that wasn't already publicly known?... From the various news articles I've read, it doesn't appear the docs are all that revealing - just more of the same ... abuses in Iraq, lack of progress in Afghanistan, more civilians killed than widely reported, etc; more detailed stats stuff, but no real smoking-gun info. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the leaks were intentional to see who is leaking what, and presumably psyops too so as to divert attention away from other activities the U.S. government is involved in. I really don't understand how he has survived this long. We've already seen critics of the Iraq war have 'suicides' including that British guy from the defense department. The CIA has no problem assassinating people so why hasn't he been killed. Men have been killed for a lot less than what Julian has done.
