need mpeg softwares for high compression and still hold quality. suggestions anyone? Some galleries have quality clips and they have low file size. Whats the deal. how do they do that? hit me up fellow webmasters. thank you |
Some use Divx codec's, which is pretty good. Me, I'm using Windows Media files and streaming them.
try searching google for Virtual Dub, it's a good piece of software and then get the Divx codec from Divx.com. Feel free to ICQ me with questions. |
I use MGI Videowave , and it seems to work fine for me

I use Media Cleaner from Discreet. It greatly automates the whole process and does an amazing job of getting the best image quality vs. file size. It handles QuickTime, Windows Media and RealMedia. For my experience, so far, I have gotten the best results from the MPEG4 codec in QuickTime. Window Media gets almost as good, RealMedia about the same. Personally, I am not a fan of MPEG1 - just not that good for the file size. I can often get a MPEG4 stream to about half the size for comparable or better quality.
You can get a feature-limited trial version from Disceet's web site. It only lets you encode a total of 30, 15 second segments but, should be enough to test it. --JK-- |
