GM IPO boost to democrats in 2012?

The unusual bankruptcy settlement for GM granted a significant portion of the company to the United Auto Workers. The union is in this game too, even though it has no investment to recoup. The UAW is selling around 18 million shares, so it stands to gain about $500 million for its pension fund ? at taxpayers? expense

Do you wonder what the unions will do with that money in 2012?

The article for the most part is pigshit.

Vendzilla why do you advocate for the destruction of the middle class?

You speak so much and say so little
Just so you know, I have two union cards, IUEC and Teamsters
I didn't like what they did with our dues, never did

I just took out the part where the unions are taking 500million dollars at the taxpayers expence, and I know they will be spending it on the democrats in 2012

jezebelz 11-20-2010 12:06 PM

This entire idea was an epic fail. Anyone that knows anything about business understands that this "bailout" basically handed control of the company to the unions. The taxpayers will never get a solid return on their "investment". It will ultimately bite Obama in the ass, especially when the Unions sink a shitload of cash into his war chest in 2012. People are fed up with "business as usual" politics from both parties.

Not everything is epic, shitheads.

Quote:

And for the record, fail is a verb, and is something you do, like fail at English. The act of failing is "failure," and is a noun. People can be failures, but they can't be "fails." That doesn't make sense. So when you miserable pieces of shit say "epic fail," what you really mean is "epic failure."

I think most people either won't care or won't know. Everyone knows the democrats are in the pocket of the unions and the republicans are in the pocket of the bankers and big business. It has been that way for a long time and nobody has cared. Add in the horrible supreme court ruling where now any business from anywhere in the world can throw money at out elections and there will be so much outside money and so many special interests that no candidate will be able to avoid them.

So now I guess you are going to tell my that Both George Bush's didn't extend it first.

Too bad you slept through life like an idiot until Obama became president and all of
a sudden you care about him doing the exact same thing the Bushes' did while you
were "asleep at the wheel".

What a fucking moron!

Bush #1 extended emergency unemployment benefits for 30 months.

I don't give a rats ass what president did what before we had the internet, I was talking about whats going on now you dick head

Lets get back to the question that started this thread, are you OK with the government doing deals like this for special groups?
I mean the new healthcare law had over 30 groups that bought their way out of it with exemptions, you actually think thats right? Unions making special deals to get rich, then fund money back to the democrat party?

You know being that you're too fucking stupid to comment on that

All you have is a big mouth with falsehoods and garbage spewing from it.

You're lazy and good for nothing except ranting.

You never have any facts correct and all your post are nothing but "hatorade" on Obama.

So wait a minute.. the Bush administration giving $800 billion, no strings attached to the banks.. that was just fine? Or do we just forget that because it was "in the past"?

you're a moron.

A) GM is paying back it's loan.

B) keeping GM afloat meant JOBS. That means people no longer collecting unemployment and welfare. And more people contributing to the tax base.

C) when these companies pensions go belly you you do realize that has been a government program around for DECADES that takes over the pensions. At taxpayer expense as you say. I don't see how selling stock is costing tax payers a penny.

Try educating yourself more and hating less. If someone said Obama was baby raper you believe them. Use your fucking brain.

Barry-xlovecam 11-22-2010 06:53 AM

Many persons held the common stock of General Motors PRE BANKRUPTCY ? these investors were wiped out by the bankruptcy.

These investors ran the full gamut from institutional investors, pension fund managers as well as current and retired GM employees (401K etc.)

I imagine that the aforementioned investors, encompassing the political spectrum, are vomiting at the moment ...

The class of; current and retired GM employees (401K etc) would be predominately Democrat voters ? I doubt they see Obama as their "savior" because of this ...

BlackCrayon 11-22-2010 07:07 AM

and how much money do the repubs get from big business? its all a bunch of shit in the end anyways. you can advertise as much as you want but you can't buy votes.

raven1083 11-22-2010 07:24 AM

article makes some sense on some point

minicivan 11-22-2010 07:40 AM

A massive loss of money on an investment is a success and a huge shortfall constitutes a "repayment" of a loan in Washington DC. Nothing new there.

of course its both parties. politics is big money, no one wants small government or less taxes are you a mouth breathing retard? taxes and government jobs is their business. do you think they want to scale down their business? oh and sure the dems were voted out, just like the repubs were voted out before, and the dems before that and then the repubs before... see a trend? america is saying both parties suck and are doing DICK FUCK ALL FOR EVERYONE except those filling their pockets with more than just their tax money...

pornguy 11-23-2010 06:32 AM

None of the bail outs should have ever happened. If you own/run a business then you should be able to pay for what you produce and still have a profit. If you can not do that then you are doing something wrong.

It's always been my stand that I don't like either party, but I'm labeled a republican because I hate the Barry in charge, it's liberals with limited brain capacity that don't realize that independent voters are calling the shots in politics. They just continue to pass the blame instead of doing anything. Since we can't get away from the 2 party system anytime soon, a balance is the best way, Barry had full power, more than any president in decades and he pissed it away, good intentions, bad execution. The way government works has to be changed, that's what the Tea Party is about, so in that case, you are agreeing with them, welcome to sanity!

the 'tea party' (not sure why they use that name if they want to be taken seriously) seems too republican to me. where were they when bush was fucking up the country?

tony286 11-23-2010 09:08 AM

This is the republican strategy spend spend and cry about spending when they arent in charge. Now the prez being black adds to the fire. They only care about getting back into power.

Hoping with thoughts of actually ending ear marks and cutting wasteful spending, with the Tea Party staying on everyone they got voted in, I hope things will change. The republican party has not always been that way also, they did great running the house and senate during the Clinton years. Now we'll see if they can do the same under Barry.

Don't listen to Rush, or MSNBC, still waiting for someone to show where Fox lied about something and didn't make an apology for getting it wrong
