Mayor of London warns War Criminal G.W. Bush that if he comes to the UK he may never see Texas again
It is not yet clear whether George W Bush is planning to cross the Atlantic to flog us his memoirs, but if I were his PR people I would urge caution. As book tours go, this one would be an absolute corker. It is not just that every European capital would be brought to a standstill, as book-signings turned into anti-war riots. The real trouble ? from the Bush point of view ? is that he might never see Texas again.
One moment he might be holding forth to a great perspiring tent at Hay-on-Wye. The next moment, click, some embarrassed member of the Welsh constabulary could walk on stage, place some handcuffs on the former leader of the Free World, and take him away to be charged. Of course, we are told this scenario is unlikely. Dubya is the former leader of a friendly power, with whom this country is determined to have good relations. But that is what torture-authorising Augusto Pinochet thought. And unlike Pinochet, Mr Bush is making no bones about what he has done. Unless the 43rd president of the United States has been grievously misrepresented, he has admitted to authorising and sponsoring the use of torture. Asked whether he approved of ?waterboarding? in three specific cases, he told his interviewer that ?damn right? he did, and that this practice had saved lives in America and Britain. It is hard to overstate the enormity of this admission. ?Waterboarding? is a disgusting practice by which the victim is deliberately made to think that he is drowning. It is not some cunning new psych-ops technique conceived by the CIA. It has been used in the dungeons of dictators for centuries. It is not compatible either with the US constitution or the UN convention against torture. It is deemed to be torture in this country, and above all there is no evidence whatever that it has ever succeeded in doing what Mr Bush claimed. It does not work. The mayor of London warns Bush he has to be cautious where he runs his mouth about torture, because in Europe people might actually walk up to him and have him arrested for it. "He might never see Texas again." http://dailypaul.com/node/149961 |

I'm undecided on whats more humorous, that Slutboat believes this shit or that Mayor of London actually think he can do anything. Both are fucktards who aren't living in reality so either way i get a good laugh at there expense.
Thanks to you both :) |
I guess the mayor of London isn't aware of his secret service detail.

According to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations that sets out the rules for diplomatic immunity Bush would not have diplomatic immunity if he left the country for any reason other than a diplomatic mission. It also states that he can be tried in international courts for crimes he committed while in office.
Some of you need to read more and pretend to know less. http://untreaty.un.org/ilc/texts/ins...s/9_1_1961.pdf |

Has any ex president left the country in recent times for other than a diplomatic reason, remember the Haiti visit? No one is going to convict him of war crimes, welcome to the real world. It world be political suicide for any country to do so. |

Political SUICIDE??? NOBODY in this country would give a flying fuck if Bush was jailed - Not the Congress, not the Republicans, Not the Tea Party, not even Dick Cheney would care - the whole world would cheer and there would be zero downside.... Worst President in history - most hated man in the world (by far) and the biggest embarrassment to this nation since slavery - and you think it would be political suicide. Just when I think you can't possibly get any more monumentally wrong Vendzilla - you surprise me. |

You really are delusional. There is not a single country in the world who dare arrest a US President (with the possible exception of Iran or North Korea). To do so would be an act of war against the US. Even Obama would have no choice but to act against such a provocation from another nation. It will never happen. It will particularly never happen in a NATO alliance country as it would completely unravel the NATO alliance and would leave Europe basically defenseless. Even the Spanish are not this stupid. You however are quite stupid. :winkwink: |

id love to see some accountability, however it isnt going to happen
that guy just wanted his name in international papers |

It's not about the man, it's about the office you FUCKING MORON. You think this country is going to let any ex president get arrested for war crimes, you are off your fucking rocker. The office is something that the present idiot in charge cares nothing about, he's a weak leader. Just like Clinton, he gets in trouble and he does something to change the subject, With Clinton, he dropped bombs on Iraq the day they started impeachment hearings, with Barry, when he loses more seats in congress than any other president in over 70 years, he goes on a trip. |

Guy behind him, pulling him down Guy beside him, scared like a little bitch leaning out of the way as to avoid not getting shot in a cross-fire :1orglaugh |
Pure politician BS
The mayor of London has to make some buzz about himself if he wants to be reelected next time... Who in its right mind can SERIOUSLY believe that W Bush would go in jail ? It will just NEVER happen But this makes the headline, that's the most important. :2 cents: |

you guys are funny... you think this nation is coronated by god to be above the rest of the world, and that our leaders are somehow exempt from the laws that we ourselves make.
It's time we hold ourselves accountable if are ever to regain the respect of the world. In 100 years the legacy of Bush will be the Torturing President, and the legacy of Obama will be the President that let him get away with it. |
boris, boris!!

Independent judiciary
All it takes is one judge Dubya will probably be asked politely to stick to safe countries for his book tours, really. |
Did any of you see Bush on Leno last week? He's actually kind of funny.
