One video player, allow mobile and regular video display????

On my website I have FLV files as the preview trailer, and they dont display on cell phones, is this a format issue? If so, where can i get a video player for my site that allows me to embed two links within one player, where the user can choose what one they play.. example.. youtube videos, in the bottom right corner of their player there is often an option to choose what quality video, how would i do something like this only instead of quality, choose what format...

Thanks

flv's should play on Androids smartphone , however on the iPhone and iPad there is no flashplayer so flv's won't play.

To view movies on the IOS (iPhone,Pad,Pod) you should converting them to mp4 format.

Did you watch the source on your pc or on your iphone?
When you watch the movie on your iphone you are most likely redirected to an other page with a mp4 movie.
They have some kind of detecting script to redirect mobile surfers.

In TubeX, the script looks at the fle extension and chooses the player accordingly. For iPhones, files wth 'qt' (Quicktime) extension would use the Qucktime player provided with the script.

It works very well if you host your own clips and have different formats available, but most sponsor hosted clips are flvs, so you're back where you started if you used sponsor clips. (although there are sponsors which will give you clips in multiple formats.

The major hurdle in all this is Apple. They decided they do not want flash on the iPhone, with YouTube being the exception. An alll in one player would be a dream come true, but getting around all the licensing BS would be difficult.

I think sponsors should provide movies in mp4 format because flashplayer (flv) will be obsolete in a few years time.
HTML5 will be the new standard with a nice <video></video> tag.

Movies in mp4 format also play fine with a flashplayer so why using flv's?
