obsolete photos and videos in membership subscription site or keep adding to them?
Hi -
I have a question about having a subscription membership site. I've seen some membership sites where new photos/videos/stories are added regularly, and they stay in the membership area for a specified amount of time and then get sent to an archive where you can purchase them individually, and some where all updates just build on the previous updates, so by the time a few years have gone by there is a massive membership area with everything that's ever been added. Pros? Cons? I would think that removing content after a while would make sense, especially if you were continuously adding new content, and allowed old sets to be purchased individually (or even new sets to be purchased individually without a membership?) Especially if you want people to maintain a membership and not just stay a month or two and watch everything in your archives then cancel. But maybe the higher number of signups I'd think you could get the other way - keeping all content indefinitely - would offset the ones who only stay a short time? I'd appreciate anyone's thoughts or experiences on the subject! Thanks! |
