New Site, how to get traffic
Hello, I have started a new website.
nakedwet.com Let me introduce myself a bit. I'm a college student currently. I plan to run the site on my spare time, preferably no more than 2 hours per day on updates and maintenance, once I get the traffic going. I understand link building and SEO is a never ending process if I do it manually, but I consider switching to paid service once I generate enough income per month from my site. I sort of regret not entering adult business sooner a few years ago when i was 18. The niche of the site is supposed to be high quality professional galleries from a few big sponsors of the niche. No hardcore/porn/amateur galleries on my site. My aim is to provide non-intrusive layout and navigation and no blind links/random redirects in order to provide maximum ease and please to viewers so they have a reason to keep coming back. My site is very new, only less than a week. And I've only got less than 200 unique visitors. I've spent the first 2-3 days of nearly 24 hours of working minus sleeping and eating to set up and tweak the look of my site, while updating a few galleries per day. Now the initial hard part is done, comes the long-term hard part: traffic building. I've Given my philosophy, by what ways can I send traffic to my site? TGP/link dump, forum marketing, trades, SEO link building? I've searched around quite a bit for TGP/link dumps but could not find many. Forum marketing isn't really an option as it would consume large amount of time, and most of the forums link to filesharing sites to download entire zip sets. As for trades, I just couldn't find similar sites to trade with. Therefore what are the ways to building traffic manually? Or is there any service out there that I can get traffic from? Thanks. |

Welcome to GFY. First you need content, good and great content. First start optimizing your site (on-page seo). Add long tailed keywords, they rank higher!
Build backlinks: -Forum posting -blog commenting -linkexhcange -social media optimization (twitter, facebook and so on) There are other methods of building traffic such as Black Hat SEO methods, never try them. And most important of all: Do it yourself!! Don't trust nobody that say they can do Adult SEO, they lie and only want your money. If you do it yourself you know what you do and keep doing SEO, dont never stop working for your site. Good luck! |

stop
before u do anything else, ask yourself this question for roughly how long and how much time each day will you be spending on this website ? if your answer is something like .. 'umm until im bored' or 'whenever i got the spare time' then i suggest to just continuing building your blog like this, traffic will come by itself from google if you have no idea what seo is, then dont try to force it....could end up doing more harm then good.. |

200 unique visitors in under first week?...
I'm not an SEO expert and I've been running my paysite for about 1.5 years, but I'll offer you a few things I've learned in that time.
First off, if you put up a site and got 200 unique visitors in under a week with little to no SEO work, what are you concerned about? Considering how hard it is to get traffic to a hardcore site, never mind a softcore one, that's quite the accomplishment already. In a year and a half, I've never had 200 unique visitors in any one week period. You should be posting about how you managed to accomplish that, rather than asking about more traffic. As for your question, one part of SEO is setting a goal, and working towards the audience that fits it. If you just want eyeballs on your site, okay, but if you want actual visitors interested in your specific type of content, then you need to understand something about them. Your site doesn't seem to have any "Join" function. Are you just giving away softcore galleries? If you're trying to make money, you'll need to set goals, like: "I want 200 unique visitors a week, who all want softcore content, and I want them to do <whatever>". Once you have that figured out, see where those people online are going and advertise to them through social media and blogging as suggested by some other posters.

Thanks guys for the input. I really appreciated it.
@Ramirez I don't quite understand how blog commenting or forum posting could send visitors to my site. Why would people on various porn forums come to my site to see sample galleries, while they can just download the entire sets(uploaded to file sharing sites) from their own forum? @stonehammer Althought I said I'll be spending 1-2 hours on maintenance and updates, what I really meant was that I spend that much time on updating galleries daily. However, that's what I've been doing for since day one. Now that I do things quicker and quicker, it takes roughly 5-10 mins to update 1 post. However, hand-picking the best galleries myself is still the most time consuming part. And I understand, that SEO is a never ending task, so I will do my best to add more text and targeted keyword to my site, while building backlinks(this is the hard part). @ThePornMaker In every gallery on my site, I put my sponsor's banner at the top of the post. I try to make my site user friendly, easy to find particular girl/set, and not intrusive in terms of ads/banners. Should I place something like my sponsor's join links on the sidebar? Could you elaborate what you by "join function"? As for the traffic I got within the first week, they are statistics from my webhosting control panel. And most of the referring links are t.co (I believe twitter's tiny links) or some random babe directory from non-adult sites. I have no idea how my posts even got onto those mainstream sites in the first place. Also there are some keywords from search engines too.

Just worry about keeping your content fresh with updates every now and then and building links up with Link Spun and you will start to see the efforts of your work when the traffic starts rolling in. |

Don't forget to work some of the off-line options available for a softcore site.
You can get your site's URL in front of people using things like: T-Shirts | Hats | Stickers | Signs/Posters/Flyers | physical Bulletin Boards | Calendars | Mugs/Shot Glasses | Pens | Mousepads | Stress Balls | Refrigerator Magnets, etc. HTH and Good Luck.

Good luck, and post some tips - because either you were born directly under a lucky charm, on a Friday, on St. Patricks day during a leap year, or you know a lot more about SEO and acquiring traffic than you're letting on with those results.

Thanks for the replies.
Offline advertising I don't think it's a good idea, because although my site has no hardcore content, it does have explicit content of showing spread pussy. And maybe I should be more clear. I have a few sponsors for my site, and I, as an affiliate, promote the sponsors with their content. I get money by earning affiliate pay-per-signup or percentage rev share commission. I don't have advertisers. That's right, I got 200 unique visitors in a week or so, without doing much SEO. I guess I must've been lucky, if that number is really good. I honestly do not know much of SEO, so I post here to kindly ask for advise.

Okay, that makes more sense. I'd say you're off to a good start. I know 200 may not sound like a big number, and in the grand sceme of things, it's not - considering there are millions and millions of people looking online. However, if no one knows about your site, that number is astronomical. To have people just "showing up" to the tune of a couple hundred in a few days, that's a large number.
If you never plan to make money from content, only from affiliate programs and such, someone else would be able to advise you on that. All I can say is that no matter what, stay focused on one thing. If softcore is your thing, be known as the softcore guy. Tell everyone who likes softcore, you're the softcore guy. I don't know about affiliate programs, but I do know something about consumer loyalty - they'll go back to the same place over and over if that's the place to satisfy their needs ...or "scratch their itch", as it were. Good luck.

For sure the best way to get high quality traffic is to build traffic from SE. It's hard way, but it's perfect for long term. But in case if you want to test your site, to see the ratio you site will have, you can try to buy some high quality ad traffic for test purposes. If you want to do so, I would recomend traffic from Ero Advertising. They have really good traffic in all niches, with really good GEOIP filtration and anti-cheat system built-in.
