How do YOU measure success?

Ive been doing this for quite a while and I know its much harder to make a buck then it used to be.

Many of us have those days where we spend a lot of time working on projects that may or may not make money or even make money for a few months until it builds up traffic, etc. And for me personally, making money is not the end all either.

So Im curious how others gauge whether theyre succeeding or heading the right way on a project when a lot of times theres no immediate results

(...I have posted this here as well as the main forum as to try to get some input from newbies and well as established webmasters)

Newbie here, having great successes by way of gaining new models and media attention. It's tough to feel successful at times throughout the week, but if I look back at the overall week's gains it's substantial (even exponential at the moment) but hour to hour it feels slow.

Of course, business success must boil down to the dollar, the dollar per dollar invested, and the dollar per time invested. If you're asking how to analyze that, or when to cut loose from a failing project, that's just emotionless pluses and minuses based on your resources of money and time available to test a project.

But, if you're asking in a broad sense how I measure success, every day I wake up on the right side of the grass and the electric fences is a success. The rest is just details. Do the right things for the right reasons and the results will always feel right.

Providing a quality product people pay to support and are loyal to. Not just slamming things up for the masses.

Actually people give up. Making money through internet requires lot of patience and dedication. Some days you make a lot of money and in some you just can't.

You just keep on doing your good work, have patience, money will automatically come.
