Checklist for buying a porn site

I'm thinking about purchasing an existing porn site with original content because the owner wants to get out of the biz and do something else. The content is pretty good and I'm being made a nice offer.

I'm trying to develop a checklist of what I should be doing to facilitate a smooth transaction so I wanted to ask for advice.

One question I had was this: Can I or should I ask for a list of email addresses associated with affiliates of the site and current/previous customers so I can contact them about the site being under new ownership? CCBill and Epoch keep track of that sort of thing, right? I thought this might give me a head start as I try to relaunch the site.

Other than that I know I need to double check to make sure all the 2257 records are in order and also do some legal documents that transfer the domain name and copyright.

What else should be on my checklist?

I am not an expert for buying an adult site, but what I' d make sure that there is clause, that the old owner is responsible for content which he might not hold the copyrights or which may be illegal up to the date of the transfer.

As you can't make sure he does give you a full list, I'd check the affiliates myself or use your own existing ones.

You might also choose a platform for an escrow-domain-transfer, if you don't know the webmaster personally.

Customers should be noticed for sure.
