Change server
Hello everyone,
I'm thinking of changing servers, are currently on hostgator but I have continuous problems mysql limits. My sites are a dozen, the ones you see in the signature, but not make billions of visits, and the largest use of mysql is when a cronjob charge new videos via RSS. Cronjob that already by the time I had to limit and divide into different indications times and days of the week to avoid blocking mysql, refusing to load thousands of content. For a while everything seemed to work, until a few days ago I noticed that Bing does not see my sites and get an error 503. I asked all assistance hostgator control, and promptly after their changes have recurred blocks mysql. Between yesterday and today my sites have been offline for more than 10 hours. So you can not go on. Sorry for the outburst, but already gain little, if I break even the server is over. I do not need a huge server, my sites when they do little. The money that you can invest are few. I just need a server with no limits on domains, because I do a lot of testing, with php and mysql, and that remains online, maybe 24 hours 24 ... Turning to google I saw this: https://www.a2hosting.com/web-hosting It seems interesting especially for ssd, but do not say if they accept adult sites. You know them? Does anyone use them? How do you feel? Or know alternatives? I had never noticed ssd, it really worth it? P.S. I paid the renewal of the server a few days ago ... (the server seemed to work) there will be hoping to get the money back? thank you |

You're saying server but you're talking about shared hosting, correct? If you're having trouble with hitting limits, you might be ready for a cloud instance or VPS. Shared is fine when you're starting out but it's best to get away from shared hosting as soon as it's practical.

Sorry.
server is for me, still, shared hosting. because I'm in the beginning. My sites do not reach 1,000 hits per day, the most new to 50. hostgator is that it seems to work only if your site does not do anything. if by chance someone enters the server crashes. |

3 days with all the sites offline and no response from the support ...
It is not acceptable. Is a google suicide I'm thinking of abandoning hostgator immediately and go, even temporarily, in some other hosting. Many offer a refund within 30 days, I would abandon hostgator, for a new hosting with the possibility of refund. And in the first 30 days evaluate the hosting in question, or alternatives. Clearly prefer to move once. I shot a lot in recent days to google, and I also found these: Web Hosting - Unlimited Domains, Bandwidth, Disk Space, Free Features package geek http://www.247-host.com/plans.html gold package TMDHosting.com - Website Hosting Package, Free Domain, Free Website Transfer, Unlimited Mysql and Unlimited Email. 24/7 Support annual package https://www.hostexcellence.com/hosting-plans perhaps basic, otherwise business They cost little and seem to offer what I need. Someone knows? Uses them? Can you help me figure out what are the most reliable and really work? Over the next two days I would make backup all my sites and get ready to transfer. Can you help me figure out where to go in the next few days? thank you very much for the help A2Hosting not accept adult. I asked. |

If your sites are down, you need to come up with another solution immediately. You're splitting hairs at this point. Just pick one and get your sites back up. You should have had your sites moved within an hour or two of getting them suspended.

I know ... but I never expected that a serious company left the sites offline for three days ...
Had already happened in the past few hours, I had divided the cronjobs and everything was back to work. Today this is the situation, I'll leave you to comment ... I did file backups. Now my problem is that I have NO access to the mysql database to make backups (for hourly limit exceeded). When I try to log says: You Should upgrade to MySQL version 5.0.15 or later. I have already announced support for some time my desire to have access to do backups, but so far, no response. Now I deleted all cronjobs, and taken offline in 503 all my sites via .htaccess in the hope that this fucking give me back access to mysql server. Just ready backups run on another server / share hosting. Question: Is there a way to backup mysql database from cpanel without having to wait? |

If I were you, I would find another hosting company and make sure they are not affiliated with Hostgator. Because some of these hosting company's have different domain names but are the same company. You dont want to deal with any one that's not supporting you.

I am very happy to hear you say certifiedhosting, because I have bought from them a package yesterday and started to reload all my sites.
The idea is to rebuild it all as soon as possible, then test certified hosting for a month, if all goes well the rest of them, otherwise I move to the ones that you have suggested. thanks for the help and advice |

ONLINE AGAIN!
Are still spreading the dns but the first sites are already back online The first thing I notice about certified hosting than hostgator, is the speed... My sites are infinitely faster, maybe slow down later, but for now they are lightning. For now, bravo CertifiedHosting. with this you can host as many sites as you can fit on it. and also have fixed the mysql limit issue. Regarding refund, you should be able to get it if you had just paid for it the same week you request it. There are some options available for you, i'm pretty sure you would be interested on.

"I have no words ..." - this is where a2 left me.
A2 Hosting is really, really, really bad, bad... bad... bad mofos - I've been with them for just a couple of weeks (mainstream site of my client) and the support is just terrible, really, really, really THE WORST hosting experience I had in past 10 years. They advertise as super fast because of ssd's etc., but their support is just dramatic... days and days to solve basic problems (they've put me on a server with ip banned in multiple blacklists and then had big problem to change it to new ip), at least if you have vps with them. Small dedicated server would be the best if you're sites are growing... I see you have couple of them, I'd use dedicated If i had half of what you have. currently im trying out futurehosting (found them on webhostingtalk), they accept legal adult, the speed is pretty good, support as well, but i dont need it so much since i manage server by myself. look for some place where they can set you up on nginx instead of apache, and php newer than 5.3 (5.4 will be max if you're using scripts that use ioncube/zend )... it's really good boost on memory usage and speed. |

Look I am going to be honest with you. I have tried hostgator and left when they switched servers and everything went to a crawl. I have tried many other shared accounts and they ALL get oversold and therefore slowdown - if not today then tomorrow!
If you want a service that will NOT let you know and NOT break the bank go with HawkHost.com I have been there done that and this IS the way to go! Full cPanel access. One button script installs Great tech support Great prices so what more you want? HawkHost |
