It depends on many factors, I know people who earn xxx$ per hour and there are people who work for just x$ per hour.

Salaries are not as high as they used to be due to easy access to quality labor from poorer countries and their availabilities thru websites like elance.com.
I would register with them and look at how much others are charging. |

A real SEO expert would not have to ask that question and would rarely work for somebody else than themselves..

The Pay Scale website (payscale dot com) can help you get an idea of wages in this area.
If you enter the words "SEO specialist" on their website, they say that the salary varies between 30K and 60K per year (for the US), and the median salary is 40K. Obviously, someone who has his own SEO consulting company may earn more. |
