Any value to non-HD video?
Before the push toward 16:9 and HD, I shot with a Canon GL2. I have a bunch of content, from amateur hardcore to glamour nude videos. The GL2, while not being a camera that shot HD, was a 3CCD chip camera, so the quality is better than a standard digital video camera.
Also, the GL2 doesn't have any outputs that will help me get it onto my iMac or MacBook Pro, so I will need to find a way to even get it captured. It uses the old mini-DV tape system that no one uses anymore. I haven't downloaded any of this off the digital tapes, and am just wondering if it's even worth my time to mess with it. Any thoughts? |

Not sure what to do with the content at this point. I guess my first step would be to get it captured and onto a Mac so I can edit a few pieces to show people. Now to figure out how to capture digital tape without the right outputs on the camera...lol.

Hi,
Those are great little cameras with an awesome lens. You may find that upscaling the content once youve digitised it might give you some better than expected results. Dont they have a mini firewire 400..? I think they're called 4pin..? Otherwise you can get a converter with S-Video in and firewire out. I would check the firewire first and get a converter cable. Ebay mini firewire to firewire 800 and you should get one. Then all you do is play them out via the camera. Hoe that helps |
