Business Model Question
I was taking a look at some adult forums in various niches to get an idea of what some of the best practices are, and I noticed that a lot of the top forums are filled with download links to movie files on sites like putlocker or rapidgator. These are some of the top rated site on theporndude and other porn lists, not just random small forums. There isn't much discussion or community it's just post after post of download links and image links. How does this business model work? And who is benefiting from it? Are there really just people out there that go around making post after post of download links for ripped porn movies? Or are these bots posting on behalf of the owner to get affiliate commission? One site for example has 1.5 million posts and there are 5 "members" currently online, you'd think with a site that big there would be at least a couple of hundred members on at any given time. I'd also be interested to know how they get any traffic, when most if not all the content is essentially an advertisement for a file that you have to pay some amount of money to access.

Porn forum sites like planetsuzy et cetera, steal content from others. There are "users" aka uploaders who steal the movies from paysites, upload them to locker sites and get paid when someone buys a premium account on one of these locker websites.

I am asking what is going on with these sites? There is clearly more than meets the eye. How is it that these sites get such high ratings when they are filled with what is essentially categorized advertisements? And who is doing the uploading? Is there some type of uploading service or group being paid to make these posts? I don't exactly get the motivation, it seems like a lot of work for relatively little pay off. And as a forum owner you're basically paying to host someone else's affiliate links. We would consider these types of posts Spam on my sites, yet they are apparently quite popular. I am just trying to understand this part of the business, I've always thought it was about community building and user experience, these types of forums are the opposite or that but yet seem to be doing pretty well.
