Porn Webmaster : How do I get started?

Hello,
I'm a CS major learning c#/ASP.NET so that I could design and develop professional quality websites. I've made websites before with pure HTML and since I'm a huge fan of porn, I'm a bit interested in making a porn website.

For a year I was a consultant for an online multimedia studio and what I did was find jobs from various freelance job sites and outsourced it to them. While at that venture, I learned that developing porn sites is the most profitable because those are the kind of sites that get the most frequent visitors.

As a fan of the porn industry and an aspiring web developer I think going this route makes sense. But how do I go about this? I just want to create a site that has picture galleries of random female pornstars and probably become an affiliate with a company like DVD Dollars.

Do I have to register a business? Do I have to hire a lawyer? Or is it as easy as I think and just make the website, sign up for their affiliate program, post some of their banners on my site and call it a day?

Familiarizing myself with these webdevelopment technologies will take several months. I'm not a patient guy so I'm thinking about going the bitch route and just make a blog site full of picture galleries (and have affiliate banners on there).

1. Start designing your site!
2. Visit every affiliate program site you can to find the 2-3 that fit your niche and register with them.
3. Before you hire a lawyer visit every "resource" page you can find and read the legal articles to learn the bare minimum requirements. (You don't want to go to a lawyer's office knowing nothing at all and get charged for an education.)
4. Before your site goes live, go to the same "resource" pages to read up on marketing and traffic. It doesn't make sense to launch if you don't have a plan. You'll just have a site sitting for months with only you and your friends visiting.
5. Finally, once all the homework is done, your site has launched, and you've spent countless evening and late nights linking to site, joining toplists, creating galleries, submitting to TGP's, and reading webmaster boards you will realize that Steve was right............THERE'S NO MONEY IN PORN!!!!

GOOD LUCK!

Some advice luminion !

If your looking at getting started do it slowly until you know the ropes !!!

You can spend many thousands on setting yourself up just to find out that getting quality traffic to your website(s) is nearly impossible and at the same time your overhead is most likely going to be a problem...

I would strongly suggest trying associate programs first... Create a website and use their banners and integrate your materials and see if you can get quality web traffic via the Search Engines plus through traffic brokers...

Do yourself a favor and do a Google search on "Black SEO" this will open your eyes !!!

Best of luck,

tomwill's advice is really good, especially the part about educating yourself before you go see a lawyer. don't do this without a lawyer, because the u.s. govt isn't kidding around with this 2257 law.

if you're jumping into porn, please make your own content. exclusive content is king. and it's way more satisfying to make money off your own content than off links to the bangbros.

Maybe when I have alot of money I'll hire models. But I'd imagine that would be difficult since I don't really have any friends in real life; but I guess I could post ads somewhere. But talking to beautiful women all day is a bit nerve-racking, guess I'll have to get used to it.

But for the affiliate programs would do. I'm only in it for the money; not looking to become rich but I wouldn't want to get a real job WHILE going to college either.

I've come into this business at the bottom - a link site.

Next will be a Thumbs site
(probably a few targetting different niches)

Then a paysite buying content from others

Thats my 10 year porn business plan

Only in it for the money? Don't forget the stigma. Lots of conservative douchebags will give you shit if they ever found out you ran porn sites. So, sorta keep in mind that you will become a pseudo pariah when it comes to certain narrow minded people (and you never really know who those people are until AFTER they find out you're a porn webmaster).

Good times!!

You don't have friends in Real Life? Where do yo have friends! More importantly, what does that have to do with producing your own content!!!

There are dozens of sites out there where you can HIRE talent to perform for you. Unfortunately, I haven't reached GFY's minimum post to show you the URL's.

Anyway, just jump in the game! That's the only way you are going to learn! Like I suggested before, design a site that interests you and get your education from there. When you see you aren't getting traffic that will force you to learn how! When you see your niche isn't selling you will seek today's "hot" niche to make money! The bottom line is that if you want to do this you need to do it your way...but once you learn what works incorporate it into your game plan. For all we know you may be the next premiere site. Get out there and make it happen.

There are 1,000's of affiliate programs for anything you can imagine. Use their content until you can do your own! Additonally, there are 100's of scripts out there to make your job 2% easier!

It's really up to you!

I think you can just start it without the lawyer banner sites are just redirecting traffic so they can\t be liable unless its illegal content.
