![]() I am uploading content for our new website right now, the programmer wrote a php backend admin for this; when i create new galleries i have to first create the model and then create a new gallery, once that is done can upload the gallery pics.
the problem is that i'm uploading 832mb tonight. gallery 032-050, tomorrow the internet connection is kind of shit. its 3-4 mb but keeps timing out; is there a better way like my friend said upload a zip file or everything and then uncompressed everything on the ftp server!?!?! less strain on the ftp server; i'm using fetch. it just seems like a pain in the GFY to have to do it this way; i don't want to show up tomorrow and have a timeout. also with aperture i cannot seem to do batch rename and resize so i created an automator script that does that for me so i can work on the thumbs in photoshop when the batch is going is there an easier way? the third thing is when i submit my site to ccbill, do they have any special requirements for logging in? or can we just design it they way we want? i do not wannt to burden them with to many questions, i have about 78 sets processed and uploading and another 100 to go. that's all for now. |

Why are you using fetch? FTP can resume the files.. You could use winrar and split an entire archive up..
im a unix network administrator at work, so i can give you a hand if you need it, email me [email protected] |

the hosting is somewhere in slovenia and i'm on a mac so i'm using fetch for now. i was able to just adjust the setting maximum upload 2, add the rest to queue, and server timeout/busy set to the maximum.
it takes all day (4-6 hours) to upload 832mb but this didn't time out. my friend did say the same thing though, just compress the entire archive & upload it, that way there's less strain on the FTP server. I'll try it for galleries 79-144. i'll email if i need so help, cheers. |

Slovenia is where my boss is from, he chose this hosting, are there any better hosts in the EU/US? They are not so bad, we have unlimited space/bandw/email/ftp etc/php/perl. it doesn't have Symfony but it can be installed.
it seems to work better when I limit my uploads to Max 2. All we need now is higher internet bandwidth. |
