You don't need to know much in terms of html and php in order to build a site like this. The following tutorial will guide you step by step in using this tool's resources to the maximum. When working with it, all you need is imagination.

Functionality

There are basically two files that are related to the functionality of this tool: the one that lists/displays things in a certain order that you have chosen, and the one that displays the demanded profile

The home page of this tool offers some explanations regarding its functionality, but this tutorial is even more explicit.







The first thing you need to do is download the archive that contains the needed packages. To do this, simply click on "Click here to download the parser package". Inside the archive you will find lots of examples related to online model pagination with different templates, and also the parser, which does all the hard work for you.



Additional required tools

To test and personalize this tool you need a PHP server and a configured Apache. To make it easy, it is recommended that you use XAMPP (XAMPP is an easy to install Apache distribution platform containing MySQL, PHP and Perl. Of course for those that know how to configure an Apache and PHP server separately, they can install them on their own.

How does the RSS FEED Parser work?

It's simple: after installation, simply copy the archive's content in the htdocs directory and access
http://localhost//online&pagination/...els_paging.php
http://localhost/online&pagination/o...els_paging.php

A number of models that are online at that moment will be displayed. As you can see, each model has three related links: to free chat, to premium chat and to the profile page.

The steps involved in the display results process:

What does this requires and what does it mean? The entire process goes like this:

• the user asks for online models display by accesing http://127.0.0.1/....
• Our RSS Parser notices this demand and forwards a request of its own with a list of online models to the webcams.com server.
• It receives that list in feed-format and starts parsing it. Following the parameters that were set (which we will talk about in the second lesson) it sorts the results and commences pagination.
• it displays the results for each requested variable (also to be discussed in the second lesson)

Linking with the model's profile page

Inside the online & pagination directory, you can find a second file called profile.php. This helps display the model's profile that was requested by the user.



How was it called for? From the page that displays all the models, create a link like the following http://localhost//online&pagination/...e.php?model_id http://localhost/online&pagination/profile.php?model_id=<?=$model->model_id?>, and after the "=" sign you will add, with the help of the created for-each loop, each model's id (<?=$model->model_id?>). The profile.php page will receive this request and will display the response that will send itself to the webcams.com server. Basically it will receive more data about that model's profile, starting with the model screen name and ending up with the weekly schedule of that particular model.

Selecting/Developing the template that you want to use

How does a template help me? It's probably one of the questions that crosses your mind right now. Well it helps you by keeping all that dynamic data in a certain order, written with in certain font and with a certain color. Basically you can create or modify a template so that it suits your needs perfectly. There are no limits concerning colors, fonts or design (about the design matter, there is a small observation that you may want to keep in mind, as you should be aware that the table structure used for the pagination part will have repetitive results).

Preparing the old template for implementation
Once created/modified, this template will have to be adapted to the model's profile page. Throughout the spaces in which we are about to insert text you should leave some marks by using the html comments. This will make it easier for you to find the sections where variables will be inserted.
