Noob question concerning amateur content and 2257 - GoFuckYourself.com

I'm dealing with amateur content. I'm not meeting with anyone. Can they just scan on over the 2257 documents or do they need to physically mail it?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I want to play by the book and make sure I am.

When you buy content, how do you prefer 2257 docs?

I have pics of model's ID, model holding ID and model signing release. I can scan the release as either jpg or pdf.

If i talking about LJ and other webcam sites,which obviously are adult websites and are in compliance with 2257 USC, the necessary docs are :
- pictures with scan ID
- pictures with ID near the model`s face
- head pic
- body pics

You know... I've never understood the reasoning of having a pic of the model holding their ID next to their face. What does that possibly accomplish in the 2257 doctrine?

What if the ID is not "scanned" but is photographed? It rare that I have a scanner on location for a photo shoot.

Oh yeah, can you handle release in JPG form or must it be PDF?

There are no problem as long as the pic is clear and clean

Yes, he needs to confirm (should be under penalty of perjury) that he has checked the IDs.

I have seen in the past models that are underaged or have no Ids using their sisters Ids or somebody elses.

With this U want to proove that the model was there together with the ID when it was scanned and photographed and also try to compare that its same person.

It might sound stupid, but it would keep for sure your hands clean.

Photograph is also ok. But keep on mind that the ID have to be legible on it and all visible. Sometimes is kind of a problem with the Flash

Release can be JPG or PDF, but logically not be photographed. As long as it was signed is cool.

You now have your answers.

If you can in the long run get them to Mail you a copy of the papers, it never hurts to have the one where the pen hit the paper.

Thank you. I promise I check ID before I ever snap a picture. I also have a good understanding of communication law... spent 4 years as an ops manager in a TV station and got to work with our attorney whenever there was a subpoena or lawsuit.

I am using a 2257 release provided by a webmaster/program manager... and it has space for multiple witnesses. That just made me wonder if there was a legal need for someone beyond the photographer to witness the signing of the release.

Im very sure that Actually theres never a witness needed, this is kind of a Way to having your hands extra Clean after washing them up.

As long as the ID is good, release is signed and all Documentation is attached to you theres no Witness needed.

Same way when a Model signs alone to a Webcam site, they dont ask for witness in the documentation.
