I was ready to shoot the tv after last nights ranger game.
|
I have been disappointed by my Canuckleheads soooo many times. Hell, during my Grad Cruise we were all crammed into the back room of the boat, watching them lose a heartbreaker.

What about people who play video games 20+ hours per week. Just curious if your feelings are aimed mostly at sports fans or if it goes wider than that. BTW I agree with you about the people who talk about teams to no end. I am fan of sports and have teams I like and will sometimes discuss the team with other friends/fans, but I'm not one of those guys who follows every move of the team. And anytime I hear someone say "we" or "our" when referring to the team they like I always think of Seinfeld when he says he doesn't understand how people will go to a game and afterwards say, "We won." No, he tells them, they won, you watched. |
Canucks are asleep at home tonight.
|
I thought it said NBA Playoff talk...... leaving now :(

Where's that guy that was going on about how the Canucks were such a different team now when I was talking about their history of choking.

Personally I think it's a bit of both. I don't think the Canucks were quite ready for the real Blackhawks to show up in game 4, and still weren't adjusted enough for them in game 5. (maybe they didn't think the change in the Blackhawks's game would last beyond the one game?) Either way, this is now a series. If Chicago wins game 6 back in their home arena Sunday night then game 7 could very well be the "actual" Stanley cup game of these playoffs. |
Here's the new schedule (since the coyotes were eliminated):
(early games in yellow) TONIGHT: 04/22 Sabres vs. Flyers - 06:30pm (CT) 04/22 Predators vs. Ducks - 09:00pm (CT) SATURDAY: 04/23 Lightning vs. Penguins - 11:00am (CT) 04/23 Rangers vs. Capitals - 02:00pm (CT) 04/23 Canadiens vs. Bruins - 06:00pm (CT) 04/23 Kings vs. Sharks - 09:30pm (CT) SUNDAY: 04/24 Flyers vs. Sabres - 02:00pm (CT) 04/24 Ducks vs. Predators - 05:00pm (CT) 04/24 Canucks vs. Blackhawks - 06:30pm (CT) 04/24 Capitals vs. Rangers - 11:00pm (CT) 04/24 Penguins vs. Lightning - 11:00pm (CT) 04/24 Sharks vs. Kings - 11:00pm (CT) TUESDAY: 04/26 Bruins vs. Canadiens - 06:00pm (CT) 04/26 Sabres vs. Flyers - 06:30pm (CT) 04/26 Blackhawks vs. Canucks - 09:00pm (CT) |
The winning goal in that Mtl-Boston game last night was offside. Anyone else catch that?
I had a feeling the Bruins were going to find a way to win that one regardless, but I'm surprised no habs fans are in here yelling about that last goal. |

Sabres are looking gooood in tonight's game so far. 3-0 going into the 2nd. |
And there it is, Sabres score in OT, win 4-3
and take a 3-2 series lead over the "Stanely Cup Champions-to-be" Flyers. |
Tampa Bay Lightning absolutely SLAUGHTERS the Penguins in today's early game 8-2. What a trouncing.
In other news there was the USA vs CAN semi-final at the IIHF Under-18 World Hockey Tournament in Germany today. USA was up 4-2 late in the 3rd when Canada pulled their goalie and scored making it 4-3. Okay, no biggie, right? Well, the USA took a penalty with just over 2 mins left in the game, team Canada again pulls their goalie making it a six-on-four scenario, and with just over a minute to go in the game THEY SCORE and tie it up 4-4. It really looked as though Canada was going to pull it off, but a few minutes into the four-on-four ten minute OT period, after a couple of really good scoring chances for Canada the USA scored on their next rush down the ice (nice looking goal btw) and won it 5-4. USA will play for Gold, against Sweden I believe. Great game though. Some of these kids will be among the next wave of NHL recruits in the next few years. |
Rangers are GONE.
falling 3-1 to the Caps, who take the series 4 games to 1. Awesome goal by Ovetchkin. |
CHICAGO WINS!
Series going to game 7. |
Soooo... yeah.... I hear the sound of... choking... lol

Back to Philly tomorrow night! |

It looks like the underdogs are going to take some beating this season, just like last year. |
Some amazing hockey going on right now thats for sure! Unfortunately my team's not apart of it :(
|
Put those Canuckleheads out of their sorry attempt of trying to be a hockey team..fuckin bums!

Tampa Bay Lightning is close to knocking the Penguins out of the playoffs right now, btw. |
Wups, I had it backwards, it was the Pens who had the chance to knock TB out tonight, but they didn't. That's another series going to a game 7.
Game 7 in the playoffs is the best hockey in the world. No matter which two teams are playing. SJ-LA Kings game is just starting, SJ can put the Kings out of their misery tonight. |

Kings are OUT! Tonight is going to be huge! 2 game sevens and Boston with a chance to KO the Habs :) |
some exciting game 7s on tap!
|
My predictions for tonights winners.
Bruins by 1 goal in regulation or an overtime winner for Montreal (can't choose which one) Flyers by 2 goals in regulation Blackhawks by 1 goal in regulation. |
Quote:
Montreal wins by 1, ties up series. (Montrealers then have to wait another few days before they can burn cars and loot shops) Sabres win by 2 in an upset over the Flyers (As much as I like the Flyers I just have a feeling they're not going to make it this year) Chicago wins by 2 (by one + an empty-netter) Now I've probably jinxed it, ha. |

I was going to say the 3 Bs (Boston, Buffalo, Blackharks) could win, But I want Flyers to go through. They didn't excactly make it easy on themselves last year. I am hoping they will pull through again. |
Pens last game looked like they were mostly dosed with barbituates or something... hard to watch.
I hope they catch a fire... because not going to catch Crosby on the ice... |
wootz this game we're going to be making big hits to the head on the boards, playing free of fear of any sort of penalties
alls fair right? |
what a win for the series, killer shot thornton.. Go Sharks!

Nice win for Mtl. Game 7 should be terrific.
The Flyers-Sabres game by comparison looked like a regular season game. I'd turn it to there and it seemed slow at a lot of times, whereas the Mtl-Boston game was way intense, end-to-end action, all players playing like their lives depended on it. The difference in intensity between the two games was significant. Nice series win for the Flyers though. |
And by the skin of thier collective asses....
Canucks win the series. Blackhawks - OUT Who's next for them, Tampa? |
now that was a hockey game..

Ugh. Now I have to put up with at least one more series of the collective emotional ups and downs of some of the most retarded sportsfans in history.
|
Sabres ran out of gas and lost to the better team :(
If the Flyers had a decent goalie they'd be legit contenders - Pronger is back. Both the Bruins and Canadiens are pretenders - think Washington is as well. Tampa and Pittsburgh aren't good enough. Hoping for a Canucks vs Detroit Western final and Philly vs Bruins in the East. |

Blackcocks? Nope. Vancouver Canucks FTW.
