We all know he did it but the "he admitted it" argument doesn't fly obviously. By the same reason you could argue that anyone who says: "I didn't do it" is innocent.

There are loads of reasons one could admit to something without actually having done that thing.

I can understand the sense of joy and pleasure that this event brings but the 'USA USA USA' chants sound as stupid now as they do at the golf :)

The content of your quote does even contradict the source of the information (National Comity of 4 and 5 May). Besides the fact that your bet of which generation I am (which is totally of), you should have stayed awake during those hours at school when they explained to you what happened in those days…and why we still have our memorial and liberation days on the 4th and 5th.

Now, i know. You didn't finish school yourself!
You didn't read my last line.

"Nowadays it is more a "Freedom Festival" cause WWII is something of the past and more people died in wars"

Or you don't have a clue yourself and think it is a Queensday afterparty.

BTW.... I have to say, I was just talking to the inlaws in South Africa. They are getting the impression from the news that people are dancing in the streets all over the country. I don't know about DC or NY, but here in Miami, it's just another day. It's certainly not the whole country having a party, that's for sure.

Exactly.

In my opinion, there is absolutely no reason any American should do business with you. :2 cents:

Same here in Chicago. I'm in a popular neighborhood and people were going into bars to watch the news last night and most people were happy to hear the news, but there was no partying in the streets there or anywhere else in the city that I knew of.

Just a guess

In my part of Oz, things were quiet - my opinion goes along with the above! :2 cents:
