Yep i gotta agree with you on that Kristin. A very wise friend of mine told me that a while ago... Trying to do everything well like the Brazzers and RK guys do is almost impossible unless you have unlimited amount of resources at your disposal. It's better to just pick out a few specific niches that you UNDERSTAND and do really well and focus on them.

I guess I better have a chat with PR_Dave then about increasing my salary. I have Ad buys that are doing 17 sales a day without much day to day work. I just monitor CTR's and swap out banners when it gets below a certain level.

If those are 200 active webmasters with sites sending traffic, maybe. If they are cheap joins, maybe.

But I doubt it. I'm separating the bullshit from the business here --

Look around you at this industry. I'm not going to name names but I know people who had 5000 member sites that are happy if they do 10 sales a day today. I know people who had million dollar sites doing 100+ joins a day, who are lucky to do 25. I know people on this board with big personalities who have side jobs to pay the bills.

So if you can come up with 6000 new sales a year in 2011 you can write your own ticket.

??? Are you kidding me? There are a lot of programs will aff reps doing that.

I love how one mention of affiliate manager in a gfy thread and it instantly gets 2 pages. I understand how their can be some tension between affiliate managers and traffic generating webmasters but its really unjust. It's always the same people in the threads with the same comments. Affiliate managers get treated worse than the the .xxx people, Chris Mallick and the zango people on a good day.

In all seriousness tho, a solid person in this industry with decent contacts can hit 500 sales a month in no time at all, it's only 17 sales a day.

someone would actually have to be doing completely NOTHING to do 17 joins a day :1orglaugh

Anyway I'd only move back for the pie case at Congress:

Not to step on Kristin's or Ross's nuts here but you also have to consider some of the webmasters we are working with in our programs as well. One good webmaster can reach that mark easily--even these days. So with 200 active ones...

What separates Ross from most of us is he can generate good numbers from thin air practically so that makes him invaluable to us because of it.

Except for that fake accent, its' getting old, he really grew up in Cleveland...

NickB. 05-11-2011 06:07 AM

any webmasters that read this thread, I certainly know how to make you a lot of money.. 1 email will work :) we'll take it from there

I think a lot of people in our industry believe what everyone else is saying. Thread after thread on GFY about low sales and people just give up. I guess a lot of them are not used to working 10 hours a day to generate good sales.

To be fair, you also have 5 million programs with 20 million sites under you to work with. ;-)

Hey bud, yeah I understand that there's webmaster out there suffering :( I wish I could help them all....

As a sales person in this industry its almost impossible to do 17 joins a day with all these webmasters out there :thumbsup

There's so many more joins out there... I dont think too many people understand that

I agree. We should be making fun of your kilt.

Chris 05-11-2011 06:57 AM

Jimmy - ill have to respectfully disagree with you on this.

500 sales a month is VERY easy for a good webmaster these days. Even within my industry its very possible for a single webmaster to do that :)

start by paying the ones that are owed money form the SOBV sites you guys "purchased"
that ll be a good start eh?

JustJ 05-11-2011 08:08 PM

22k? I got my first job in adult 13 years ago at 35k ;). But, I also believe in "prove yourself in 60 days or move on" ..

I start my affiliate guys at $22k plus commission. If you have experience, good contacts, good rep we will always work with the person to find a happy salary for both parties. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

We also provide health, dental and vision insurance, 401k, FSA, Vacation/PTO, and iPads. :)

Commission is $1 per join with a monthly quota of 500 sales. My guys blow this out of the water, so there is still plenty of money to be made as a rep.

That's why I never got the constant job jumping, Sly and Nadya have been with us for four years and I don't think plan on leaving any time soon. I hope not at least. :)

AK 10-04-2011 07:14 PM

I have been reading this thread today and think I'd bump this lol.

I'm still looking for two new sales reps to bring in new sales and bring back old affiliates .
I have few candidates that I need to get back to.

Like Kristin said, we can also give the old affiliates for them to start.

Jay and Brandon are still my two main guys and are focusing on different verticals right now, but we still think there are affiliates out there who haven't worked with us.

Oh, the new positions are good with remote too. Hit me up ;)
