he was skating into the zone looking the wrong way , it is his own fault, anyone who plays hockeys knows you just don't do this without expecting to get hurt. he should have gotten a 2 minute penalty that's it.

I agree with you smokey that he was kind of admiring his pass and should be aware whats coming at you.. BUT my problem is the puck was long gone ( in hockey time) , he took almost 3 full strides and was hit in the head.

TripleXPrint 06-07-2011 02:08 PM

Did Horton think he was going to have a free ride through the neutral zone? Why can't there be accountability on Horton's end when he should have been keeping his head up. He hadn't passed the blue line and as far as I'm concerned, it was a clean shot. A hard shot but clean none-the-less. If Horton didn't go nighty night, at worst it would have been an interference penalty, which I don't agree with either.

I'm not a Canuck fan, I'm not a Bruin fan. I am rooting for Vancouver because I can't stand Boston fans.

anybody who doesn't understand how late and how cheap that hit was is an idiot.

yes as all Canadian kids are taught you should always have your head up and on a swivel and not be admiring the pass you just made BUT that doesn't make Rome's hit any less dirty. And that's why the NHL suspended him.

Players are bigger, stronger and faster - you put the Philadelphia Flyers of the 70s in their prime against an NHL team of today - the score would be 19-2 and Dave Schultz and other Flyers goons would have their lights put out quick by most of the players. Go on Youtube and watch some classic games from the 70s - game was played at such a slower speed and the size of the players much smaller. Most NHL players in the 70s didn't know what a weight room was and for nutrition - beer and steak.

The funny thing is that Canucks fans don't like this Rome guy, he's only playing because of injuries and most Canucks fans would rather have Ballard dressing instead of Rome.

Well yes there should be accountability on Hortons part. You should know not to admire a pass coming thru the neutral zone BUT like I have said and many NHL experts the puck was gone long enough for Rome to vere away. 3 strides is an eternity in hockey time. He should have know better considering it happened to him in San Jose. Im not sure why McGinn didnt get suspended.

thats why he should have gotten 2 minute penalty. 2 weeks ago horton boarded someone's face into the glass from behind and he didn't get jack shit, infact they gave the other guy a diving penalty even though he was clearly hit from behind face into glass and could barely skate after.

What 3 strides? Crazy old man. One stride and he was looking at the puck all the way. May be it takes you 3 strides to go 8 feet because its 25 feet between red and blue lines and he was already 3/4 in.

Put your prescription glasses and pay attention to what happens around 21st second of this video.

I dont recall what horton did weeks ago but I think the NHL got the call right on and off the ice. You can kill a guy with hits like that. But thats my opinion. I see a shoulder/elbow going to the head with plenty of delay after the pass . THERE HAS TO BE RESPECT FOR THE GAME Look at all the great players out because of hits starting wioth the NHL poster boy Sydney Crosby.

late&cheap happens every game ,not deserving of 4 games..

horton did a much worse hit in the last series and didn't even get a penalty..

20 second in the video.. classic dirty hit.. double handed stick check to the back of the head.

I think with the way suspensions have been given out McGinn shoulda been given a game for his hit on Rome. Not sure what money has to do with it.

I dont care how good they are they are an embarrassment to the sport. Hope they never win a cup. Go Bruins. Glad that Cockholster Rome got suspended four games so even if they do win he wont be on the ice for it.

Lakers might be a close 2nd with all the cheapshots they were throwing at Dallas as their pathetic asses were getting handed to them by the big german Dirk Nowitzki. :1orglaugh

I agree 100 percent That was a crosscheck to the head from behind. And WTF did Downie get a dive call for is beyond me. Its getting rediculous out there but that doesnt make what Rome did good. And now hes paying the price. I think Horton shoulda gotten suspended for hit on Downie as he was defenseless.

LOL aint that the truth. They shoulda taken defeat like men. That was pathetic.

TripleXPrint 06-07-2011 02:42 PM

I'm still surprised Horton didn't get suspended after that Tampa game for getting into it with some fans by squirting them with water and then chucking the water bottle at them.

Yet you call the Canucks the biggest cheap shot artists you have ever seen and the Sedins fags. Real objective deeply thought out analysis there. Yikes, me thinks you have a credibility problem. And it was a north-south but late hit with no intent to injure unlike the disgusting dirty slashing to the back of the legs the Bruins are engaging in that the refs are turning a blind eye to...So be partisan, fine, but your hyperbole is a bit lame dude.

One forfeited game to give Boston a false sense of hope, that is all. You can't just clean sweep in a Series 4, it wouldn't be financially credible. Vancouver Canucks for the win on home ice. It's our year, peace.

Up until now I would have agreed it the Caschmucks year but never under estimate the importance of giving a down team motivation. That hit could be the turning point of the series.

Lol,look at Boston's past at antagonizing and cheap shots before judging anybody. If they play the same way as they did last night Vancouver will have problems trying to come back. That's part of the game, keep your head up.Antagonizing and provoking players especially in the finals will draw bad blood either way

Agreed, most definitely. We will have to wait and see the outcome of tomorrow's game to comment more clearly on this. San Jose tried antagonizing, look where they ended up. Not in the finals, that's where.

Yes I think tommorrow game may very well determine series. I think if Bruins keep pounding the Caschmucks they will wear them down and win this series. BUT they still have to win one in Vancouver somehow. First 2 games coulda gone either way. We will see. Tyler Seguin has replace Horton.

waltgator 06-08-2011 12:39 AM

Ladies and gentlemen, your Vancouver Canucks. Bahahahahahahaa :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

It makes me laugh on not only the inside, but also the outside, to see the same idiotic Vancouver fans who had already won the Stanley Cup in their minds after being up 2-0 in an absolute panic now. Warms my dark heart.

Still, I guess there's a silver lining. They cut their goals against in half this game!
