You only respond to what you feel or deem is negative.

So therefore you are a drama queen BITCH!

Let me put it this way.
Sulpher Elementary 3 years ago near where I live switched their entire school network from PC (most fairly new Dell units too) to Mac. This includes the school server, desktops for classrooms and administrators and a few laptops as well.

They went from 4 full time it staff to 1.

That says alot.

Mitch

Incorrect - I know the asst. principle. He told me because of Apple's educational offerings they are actually about the same price and was within their budget and that the Macs are so less problematic and the students are much more productive on them. They are saving about 90k per year in IT salary.

Rochard 06-14-2011 03:41 PM

How is there any comparison really?

Say you want an laptop. How many lap tops does Apple make, and how many different laptops are there for PC? Six for Apple and 2434 for PC?

What does that mean?

i was kidding :winkwink:

but it's really too complex to break it all down into a simple Mac OS vs. Windows anyways. too many variables.

i have worked in advertising, everyone was on Mac OS with Quark - no way to change that into PC even though Adobe tried hard with Indesign

i worked at Siemens - 400,000 people work there with a mainframe architecture and Windows Clients - no way to change that into Mac OS.

i had Apple Powerbooks in the past, worked well for me. Then i set up an office network with Windows Server and Mac OS clients make only problems there. So i use a Windows client.

Nowadays Apple computer are indeed not different in hardware than PCs, just a lot more expensive. And Mac OSX is a glorified FreeBSD Unix and some rests of NEXTStep with a nice user interface.

And it's a myth that Macs are more stable, it always depends on how good you treat your computer. My PCs have always been very stable - because I dont clutter them with garbage. But the Macs worked equally fine. There is no better system, there is no cheaper system, it's always just about how good you administer your systems. Just use what you like more.

But this pseudo religious attitude some Apple fans have can be really annoying sometimes. If Apple made an iWipe toilet paper they would buy that too.

HerPimp 06-14-2011 04:16 PM

People have been sold that Apple is not just computers, ipod, iphones, it is a lifestyle. If you are sold on the lifestyle, go for it.

For the others that dont believe the lifestyle see fools blowing money.

Other examples of companies that have sold lifestyle with their products? Harley Davidson & Starbucks.

We are considering switching to apple because of all the positive raves on them.
Lets hear it!!!

PC: just for work.

Apple products: I love them. But just for everything expept work: Iphone, notebook, Ipad, etc. Better design, looks amazing, great OS, the quality of the product in self..

If you require $200+ sunglasses to feel like you fit in, then you should definitely get a mac.

PhantomFrog 06-14-2011 07:07 PM

I support any effort to give Microsoft a little grief.

PhantomFrog 06-14-2011 08:08 PM

Do anything you can to give a little grief to Microsoft ...

Yes, has been changed. I am not even sure they make quark anymore. Everything is indesign.

calvinawe 06-15-2011 01:26 AM

i use PC with Win7. got nothing against Mac, i just don't really see its virtues based on the price gap between the two.

i left that job 10 years ago and didn't look back. but i just bought my first computer magazine after 3 years and it had an article abut the latest Quark version. so it does at least still exist but i can imagine people got pissed at some point that nearly no innovation was happening but it still cost thousands to update

I was being sarcastic.

The point was any publisher/agency I know now is on indesign. Adobe did really well to steal market share from quark as it was, undoubtedly, the standard for many years.

It was bloody horrible too.

Bro.. Never expect him or others like him to ever give you the time of fucking day let alone a compliment.
( You are not in there little club you will never be invited. ) They will always hate you and find anyway possible to belittle you.

Do not expect anything else, and in return never give anything and never EVER fucking apologize.

That is now how people operate. They operate with only motive and agenda and if it furthers efforts to justify there cause to put you down they will. You are competition, you need to die in there eyes, they do not give a motherfucking shit about you. The only benefit is to put you down or make you look weak.

This is human nature.

Be Legion.
Never Forget.
Never Forgive.

JamesGw 06-15-2011 02:39 PM

I see what you did there.

BUT!

Use Apple if your people are computer illiterate and Windows if they have a brain mass of more than 500g.

Yeah, but they only have one mouse button.

Swings and roundabouts.

I agree with you except for the fact that because Apple controls the hardware and OS, typically they are more stable and from my experiences, last much longer.

I like the idea of the iWipe.

If one was truly on an ignore list, and even so in your mind, you would not acknowledge or respond in any way.

But you are a pathetic GWC from the Dave Hall glamourmodels.com, OMP and now ModelGAYhem.com who only got lucky and started shooting for twistys.
You are NOTHING more than just that.

Go have a poopy day
