Yep. And every election we are told it's the "end" of lobbyists in Washington.

And then whoever wins gets in there and starts extorting money out of them on the first day. :(

Our govt. is the problem.

So we have liberals, political independents, anarchists, socialists, libertarians, environmentalists, anti-consumerist, hacktivist, eco-communalist and now we can add nazis and communists to the list.

Wow I can't believe you guys are picking "sides" like it's a sporting event.

I think that's part of the problem and something that politicians take advantage of.

People all caught up in "liberal" and "conservative" propaganda. And then that makes folks unable to THINK about issues.

Would any HARDCORE Democrat or Republican EVER vote for the "opposing" party?
Hell no.

It wouldn't matter if Obama suddenly embraced ALL the Republican Party Platform...Republicans would still hate him (unless he switched parties).

And if Mitt Romney were to suddenly embrace all the Democratic Party Platform...Dems would still hate him (unless he switched parties)

It's fucked up. People need to stop treating this like some kind of fucking sports competition and start really thinking ahead on the issues and the effects (both intended and unintended) that they will bring.

Stop looking at it like a football game and start seeing ISSUES like a chess match where you are looking ahead 5 moves.

When you blindly take "sides" you are just allowing ALL politicians to keep STEALING from us and laughing their asses off at you.

The Bankers go make a "godfather offer" to the US Government — Bail Us Out, lend us fresh capital to replace the money we have made in bad loans or the economy will collapse!

So, who fucked who here?

The responsible person that did nothing has seen the real value of his homestead decline 30% on average for an average loss of $90,000.00 and they are now predicting another decline of 25% or so in property values and you wonder why so many of the "protesters" look well fed?

Who are these makers, who do all the work, all on there own?

This is just an American myth.

The rich get rich by employing people to create wealth, and then paying them a fraction of the value they created. This is how capitalism works. Read Adam Smith if you don't want to believe Marx.

If you want to pay less tax then stop supporting foreign wars.

The USA, the richest country in the world has homeless people living in tents and children living in poverty, and health problems that Cuba doesn't have.

American based manufactures can not compete globally on price, can not compete globally with respect to labor cost and can not compete with respect to employee benefits as well. Manufactures in Japan, Korea, Germany, Canada etc. have no real burden of providing benefits to their employees. This is an advantage of socialized health insurance(not to be confused with socialized medicine, which is a debate for another time). IOW, yet another way that labor cost are minimized in other nations vs. here.

The US government has no choice but to default on Social Security/Medicare/etc. They won't default like some upside down, underwater mortgage owner that bit off more than he could chew and gets forcefully evicted from his residence...no. The government will have to raise the retirement age to 96 or something. And no, I am not overstating the pending disaster. This will happen in about 10 years...perhaps a little longer.

The only alternative is some form of Nationalized healthcare or Nationalized insurance. Either a government run single payer system, which would be a nightmare, or more likely, a massive reworking of the entire private Insurance industry to include government part-ownership(quasi-nationalization) and heavy regulation. Yet many people want to decrease tax revenues in light of this all-to-real impending economic apocalypse.

They don't. We all know this.

I pay my taxes every year. I want to believe they are going towards roads and infrastructure or otherwise in ways that benefit myself and society in general. Which some of it is. But most of it is not. Lets be honest. The insanely rich laugh at people you are on their side but make scratch. They need you, but they don't give a rats ass about you.

Columbia/HCA fraud case details

On March 19, 1997, investigators from the FBI, the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Health and Human Services served search warrants at Columbia/HCA facilities in El Paso and on dozens of doctors with suspected ties to the company.[20]

Following the raids, the Columbia/HCA board of directors forced Scott to resign as Chairman and CEO.[21] He was paid $9.88 million in a settlement. He also left owning 10 million shares of stock worth over $350 million.[22][23][24]

In 1999, Columbia/HCA changed its name back to HCA, Inc.

In settlements reached in 2000 and 2002, Columbia/HCA plead guilty to 14 felonies and agreed to a $600+ million fine in the largest fraud settlement in US history. Columbia/HCA admitted systematically overcharging the government by claiming marketing costs as reimbursable, by striking illegal deals with home care agencies, and by filing false data about use of hospital space. They also admitted fraudulently billing Medicare and other health programs by inflating the seriousness of diagnoses and to giving doctors partnerships in company hospitals as a kickback for the doctors referring patients to HCA. They filed false cost reports, fraudulently billing Medicare for home health care workers, and paid kickbacks in the sale of home health agencies and to doctors to refer patients. In addition, they gave doctors "loans" never intending to be repaid, free rent, free office furniture, and free drugs from hospital pharmacies.

Promised 1,700,000 jobs. But declined 25,000 jobs of money for HSR all ready allocated to this state by the President of the Unitied States Of America.

I have also traveled Europe's, as well as other countries HSR systems, and found them influential, and dream of the day we can bring this type of travel to the USA.

Because the govt. are a bunch of crooks who need to be voted out every 4 years.

If our govt. didn't bail out the banks we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Wasn't the banking crisis caused by the housing crisis? In other words everyone's homes going into foreclosure and property values dropping?

Well...if the federal govt. were on our side (which they are NOT)...they COULD have taken that TRILLION dollars and issued it out to homeowners to pay off their mortgages.

Then the banks wouldn't have needed to be bailed out, people wouldn't STILL be getting foreclosed on, and the housing market would have stabilized.

But our GOVERNMENT chose to give it straight to the banks instead (the same banks that are now adding billions of dollars in fees because they considered the loss of being able to charge exorbitant "fines" as a loss of "revenue")

Now gee...I wonder why the government did that instead of helping the American people and really solving the problem?

BECAUSE IT'S THE GOVERNMENT WHO ARE THE REAL CROOKS. And all of you are being played like a fiddle by them when you argue about "Democrats" and "Republicans" and/or blame "wall street".

This is a power game being played. And as usual the masses are being used as pawns.

I'm pretty sure that they all do the same amount of "damage" because they are all on the take. :(

I think of two things when I think of the govt.
1. George Washington only served one term as U.S. president because he didn't want to be a "king"
And:
2. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Our govt. pretty much has ABSOLUTE power over us at this time in history. They decide what you can see and not see, read and not read, say and not say. They basically strip search us at airports. The Patriot Act allows them to do pretty much anything they want. Hell, you can't even drive your car without being told you HAVE to wear a seatbelt (of course that's a good idea to wear one, but being FORCED to by "law"?)

And the career politicians who spend their entire lives in govt. are the biggest thieves in the world.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If our founding fathers were somehow transported into the present day...they would get a rope, find the closest tree and start hanging everyone in govt. for treason.

Sounds like a plan, except if that happened, Obama would be blamed for the redistribution of wealth, and labeled a capitalist-hating Socialist.

The right hates human welfare, they only like corporate welfare. Fox would have had a field day!

I'm a leader in my life. I wouldn't follow any kind of movement or line of thinking in any aspect of life.

I'm the kind of guy who takes each thing I am presented with and I weigh it on it's own merits and look for whatever I can take from it to benefit me and my family.

I'm the same way. I don't believe in being a Democrat or a Republican; I choose what seems right for me at that time. But the truth is we are voting for candidates based on a handful of debates, a few sound bites, and the wonderful ideas a candidates staff spins. At the end of the day it's a crap shoot - we aren't voting for the candidate, but instead what the candidate wants us to believe he (she) is all about.

It's comical watching some people on GFY talk about politics - They bitch about something Obama just did, but the truth is their party did the same thing four years ago. Then we have Obama saying this is the right direction to go in, but yet we have video tape of Obama saying the direct opposite three years ago? It's funny.

Meanwhile the top 1/2 of the top 1% continue to fuel the fire on both sides and laugh.
Whether it's Koch funding the tea party or the AFLCIO backing #OWS, the result is exactly the same. Stalemate with a continuation of the status quo.... :2 cents:

It's that "sports team competition" mentality that folks have adopted towards politics.
Their "Team" can do no wrong and the "opposing team" can do no right.

And none of that really exists in Washington. Those guys are all on the same team: Team GravyTrain

You would think that fervent followers of Republicans and Democrats would open their eyes when these politicians blatantly do these things...but they don't. They just keep chanting "yay team" and go with whatever they are told by their "side" to think.
