They convert better because yahoo surfers are less tech savvy (= less likely to know about torrents, tubes, plus more likely newbs). Otherwise why would you (as a surfer) use yahoo search and not google search. I guess many just read yahoo news and so on and then decides "let search for porn". While those "more tech savvy" already goes straight to the google.

Thats my 2 cents why would yahoo traffic converts better than google

Yeah Yahoo is still important, in fact, all the other search engines are. The worst is G. It's like the TUBE version of them. It's the worst converter (regarding SE traffic)

Hell i have a ratio of 1:57 on a very very underground SE that i didn't even know about (top page) same stuff on G
1:450

not true at all. last night i noticed a site i had deindexed from google was on the first page of yahoo for a keyword which would have made me some nice money on google. i have not made a dime off it from yahoo.

that yahoo traffic somehow converts better is an old seo myth that should be taken behind the barn and shot.

Yahoo groups can bring in some converting traffic (not in numbers but it can convert) but dont bother with the big groups, they are normally just spam fests. Instead hunt down the smaller niche groups that have an active moderator and a healthy discussion, join in but be VERY subtle with the spamming.
I've had success in the past but Yahoo does shut down accounts they think are spammers - they got me in the end. LOL! I had an account i used to join thousands upon thousands of groups and when i lost that i just couldnt be bothered to rejoin them all, which i did by hand as i couldn't find an automated way of doing it. If i was to do it again, i think i'd spread my joining of groups over multiple identitys.

It brings in sales from the banners that are on the group & I don't think its a big deal that most models in this country offer services or parties :thumbsup

You really have to stop this at some point... question is, when will you grow up & act your look & not your intelligence :1orglaugh

We joined a few groups from London, this way, we can get guys for footage... It's always handy to entertain guys performing in real situations :2 cents:

Our gloryhole parties were fun & always lively for the reason that the guys were from a gloryhole group in london. A few travelled down here & there, we would all have a few beers & enjoy a friday night with livecam for our members & a film with photo content for our sites :thumbsup

At one time Yahoo Groups was a real powerhouse. I remember getting nearly 20 full $30 joins in one day not from spamming but simply by posting one link in the link section to about 200 relevant adult groups. Those were the days! It's really changed. You're right the traffic isn't there but there still are some conversions. I doubt most people would see it as worth it as anything other than an automated process these days though.

It used to be too that Google gave a lot more weight to links from Yahoo Groups. Now there is some evidence that in some cases it could actually trigger penalties since it might get classified as spam.

CyberHustler 10-17-2011 02:45 PM

I didn't know this. I suppose if the same repeated mail is seen, it shows as spam :2 cents:

Tofu 10-17-2011 03:54 PM

Seriously, I can't believe that yahoo groups are still relevant. Every one of them is built on such an old system.

Eh, fine.. it was a search engine stats pic from a site of mine I checked earlier after being influenced by the other search engine stats pics I seen earlier in this thread...

http://i52.tinypic.com/2ibdppj.jpg

I think this site would do just fine if yahoo vanished...

Unless the yahoo brings in the sign ups :thumbsup

Trend 10-17-2011 09:17 PM

Although Yahoo has been overshadowed and outmaneuvered by Google and Facebook, the company still has the resources to bounce back. Its website still attracts about 680 million users worldwide and is among the online leaders in news, sports, finance and entertainment.

Yahoo's Q2: $396 million, or 29 cents per share, on net revenue of $1.12 billion.

I would say they are still important. :2 cents:

Stop what you fucking goofball? You're a disgusting street pimp with an incredibly disgusting dog of a "wife" :uhoh :disgust:disgust:disgust that you DO pimp out... I find it disgusting, and Damien's post hilarious... good for a little chuckle... You're an industry sideshow in an industry that's become more or less a sideshow itself...

Some sites of mine look more weighted like that but even still, anything above 1,000/month shouldn't be 'just fine' for it to vanish...

Mr Pheer 10-18-2011 01:42 AM

Yahoo is extremely popular in India.

Your post was uncalled for, have you left school yet? It's understandable an immature mind cannot keep it's views to itself especially when name calling. To call my wife a dog, you've goto be a pretty lousy person :(

A repeated conversation gets a little boring, but a small mind doesn't take much to please, you must be very chuffed calling me a "street pimp" :1orglaugh What Natalie does is up to her, when I work with her, I film, we have a studio, it's hardly pimping & i'm certainly not working on the street, refrain from bullshit :2 cents:

If you find it amusing that a childish, nasty, ugly prat, like Damian, googling an advert for me & my wife only for malicious & callous reasons, then good for you :upsidedow :error

I enjoy the time spent here on GFY, no one needs the likes of Damian or you trolling the thread, posting nasty shanty town slander, take your gun & point it at your own head or get yourself on a positive vibe & do business :(

The head of yahoos online advertising had a bad start at the web 2 summit, a 3 day conference. As 2 bosses didn't turn up incase they said something that would offend goverment regulators, considering they are hoping for a a $1billion offering with stock....

Some of my sites are ranked 1-3 positions in Yahoo/bing and traffic is low. Some sales happen surely, but if these sites had same positions in google - income would be much bigger. I think there was more traffic from yahoo search engine in 2009 when my sites had the same position there - made more money...

SomeCreep 10-18-2011 08:15 AM

Yahoo sucks dildo balls.

VikingMan 10-18-2011 08:39 AM

Some good yahoo groups still thriving from the old days and I get some long term members off those for my micro nice site. So it is important to me.

DVTimes 10-18-2011 03:54 PM

This could be due to adult sales in general falling rather than the search engine?

DVTimes 10-18-2011 04:08 PM

Shame another thread spoined by arsewithclass due to him pimping his prostetute wife.

oh well.
