If I paid to see a concert I expect the performers to sing live.

The half time show at the super bowl is a unique show. The field was transformed to one of the most amazing visual displays since the Olympics and it was done in eight minutes and then completely dismantled and taken away in another eight minutes for the second half.

The logistics for pulling that off must be incredible and I don't hold any blame for the performers lip syncing in this unique situation. They put on a show that even the people in the nose bleed seats could enjoy. Way too much physical action for Madonna to sing live. Perhaps if she just stood at the mic like Kelly Clarkson did she could've sang live.

Altho LG writes her own songs I think. There were some great writers in the 80's tho and we associate her with her songs but the writers are prob the real stars.

I was more surprised at all the late night and daytime comedians making fun of Madonna for aging. Kind of disturbingly cruel. Was she supposed to have stopped the passage of time? Or just died quietly?

I hear ya brother, Madonna was hot back in the day. What I object to is not really Madonna-centric but rather Baby Boomer-centric. Okay, maybe "human condition"-centric:

I think it was mediocre at best. The fact that they even chose her for the gig just show how little new talent is actually out there. We need artists. New creativity. All the songs she sang (barring the new crappy one) were all from the 90's! Van Halen would have been a better choice if we had to chose a veteran act! :2 cents:
