Here's a test for you. Put on white socks and walk around your house for a day. If your socks are dirty at the end of the day then you need to clean the place up.

I could literally eat off my floors they are so clean. I've got a Roomba for the hardwood as well, helps to keep the place dust-free.

In California we keep our shoes on in case of a earthquake. I don't want to run out barefoot into a pile of broken glass.:winkwink:

I never really go outside so all my shoes are "inside shoes" that are occasionally worn outside.

I have hardwood floors in the house, if it was wall to wall carpeting, we would take our shoes off in the house. Most people I know who have nice carpets don't wear shoes in the house.

Because we can afford to clean our carpets...
