I seriously doubt there will be any war, China likes to flex their muscles all the time. They are constantly making threats aimed at Taiwan, firing missiles close to them all the time to try and make them a part of China.

The ignorant must understand that China "owned" the island before Japan invaded it and took it over in WWII. From a historical point-of-view, China has precedence over the island since they were the first to claim it. Although, since WWII China has not tried to re-claim the island, technically "giving it up" to Japan, even though Japan lost the war. China had their chance but they did not take action. Therefor, in my opinion, it belongs to Japan. :2 cents:

China signed away their rights in 1895, and buy 1910 they had Japanese living on the island(s). They had fisheries there, which closed down during WWII. At the close of WWII, the US took over control of the islands, and then signed them over to Japan in the 1970s. I fail to see where China has any claim.
