The plan is to do my time in Koreatown and then FINALLY get my US driver's license and move a bit further out to a house. The BF likes that plan too since he would actually be able to park then.

First rule of living in LA is always always get a place with parking. K town is a bitch to park but a lot of the streets around there are at least permit.

This is something I have learned. I don't drive, so I didn't think it would be that big a deal and be worth the slightly lower rent. I didn't even think about my BF not being able to park. We are asking about a monthly spot at the garage a block down.

Kimchi, and Korean food in general is great. Spicy, yes, but really good.

I am addicted to BCD Tofu House on Wilshire in K Town. They have soup that is bubbling when it comes to your table and is open 24 hours. Amazing!

I've only been in the Valley a few times and I didn't really feel a huge draw to live there. I am a city girl.

Hey, I feel all local because I know where that is located. I'm on Serrano but Tofu House is right near my bank. I am going to have to check it out.
