Plus they fight and ban each other at times, they banned "bambalina" who was a female Paul Markham, this made the forum very boring to me, like a GFY without Paul Markham (a feminist version of).
I tried to contribute in another stripperweb area where anyone can post, only when they asked stuff regarding how running a cam site (after all it make sense everyone in their business can contribute, even the cam site guy?), but most of them will say site managers are all assholes pimps liars who steal money from the girls, and I gave up, trolls in GFY are way more bro's than those sista's.
About niches to get in... the cam biz?
The issue of cams it is the social factor, the software it is not important, and register 1000 cam girst in a week also not useful, it matters how many regular users you got and keep long term, to have any value. And to get so many regulars in a niche it is even more difficult, as the big generalistic sites got enough models per fetish section to make a separate site, see jasminfetish.com from livejasmin for example. And if your site is "no models online" most time of the day, you're dead no matter what.
I think the last timeframe to launch a cam site easily it was 2005 or perhaps 2006. Note that myfreecams is with us since 2004, it is not true that it is a "new" site, as well as livejasmin, streamate, flirt4free, imlive, everyone is from before, and that counts. Launch now it is "not easy" as minimum. I welcome the chaturbate's, bongacams's and freecamstars's and wish some will rise over the old giants, but I would not bet my cash on it :)
Much like I do not advise to launch competitors of facebook ("I got a software better than facebook" = "I got a cam site better than myfreecams"), I would never advise anyone to invest in a new cam site if I am his friend, even if he got a million dollar to invest in it and he wishes. I know of $500,000+ cam investments gone fail (domain names redirects elsewhere now, or 0 model sonline forever) in past 2 years - I will not tell who, but trust me :)
I would suggest instead to use that cash for merge & acquisition, to buy small old cam sites and consolidate. If he got several million, to buy bigger old cam sites who got revenue and members of course (not to buy dieing site - again not making names here lol).
I am saying with current competition only super corporation mega cam companies who own mega old regular customers databases can do the mega profits with scale economy. It is much like every other business, no more pioneers there.
May you question yourself why manwin buy realitykings, but naked.com cam site NOT part of the deal? May question why manwin buy everyone but cam programs, first and last one it was webcams.com back in 2010, and they do not promote it but streamate in their sites. May you question why who got money to launch or buy cam sites does not make it, and who got no money to proper launch it will launch? :)
