Why not give a list of differences then.

I said they have good support and pretty cases too. :winkwink:

The differences for me are in the software. Now I can build a machine that run the software of my choice (OSX / Final Cut X), with easy installation and flawless execution. It makes absolutely no sense for me to overpay when I don't have to.

Don't get me wrong man, I'm a looooooong time Apple user. They still get my money. I'm picking up a iPad this weekend to make use of one app for a school project.

I'm still rocking a MBP 7.1 with 16GB of RAM and a hybrid HDD :thumbsup

Once you go Mac .... You never go back!

I choose to ignore you because I know your responses already, and it's just gonna be a hating response instead of an intelligent response like candyflip gives.

Candyflip has my interest piqued about the Hackintoshes, as secondary machines. I may have to try one. Back when I messed with that stuff, it was all fairly new, buggy, and annoying to keep running. My main desktop and laptop will probably always be "true" Apple computers, if only because I'm an asshole at heart. The support borders on fanatical. They sent me another free graphics card (that makes two) on the outside chance mine was bad -- and my computer was NEVER under warranty, from day one (I bought it under a developer program). Cards are probably $600 for the pair .. craziness. They didn't even ask for the old ones back.

Before I went full Mac, I was hesitant too and thought about the Hackintosh, but that was a few years ago and the process has improved a crap ton since.. I'm glad I went full Mac.

yes guys, macs are expensive, but time its money
my new mac take 7 seconds to start, 2 seconds to open photoshop.
Im mac user since 2010, and saved alot of time without turning off or blue screens, or restarting all the time.
Have no sense to me make a hackingtosh.. i already did that with a desktop machine last year, and its not the same thing
well, i know it was expensive but i know i will not have to buy a new mac in other 3 or 4 years or more, so, its become cheaper :)

Looking at the Mac Pro store is like visiting the Swiftwill website.
You get transported back in time.

Not to talk about their memory prices.
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 ECC RDIMM SDRAM - $300

Really? Ok it's called "Apple Memory Module" :error and you get free delivery, so must be okay...
It better be delivered on a silver platter by a naked hooker at that price.

The hackintosh I built last month boots up in less than 10 seconds and applications open instantly. The parts are all the same. Apple gets them from the same places everyone else does.

With the exception of the video cards, I believe everything else is incredibly similar if not completely identical .. and the video cards are only built the way they are because of the special airflow in the quiet-ass Apple cases (talking about my Mac Pro desktop here).
