I watched it a few times - fairly sure the first noise is his head slamming against the vehicle fender. The sound sync seems fairly accurate - judging by the smack sounds as the kids' fists hit him.

It is what Zimmerman told the police in his multiple statements to the police as placed in evidence...by the prosecution...at the trial. It is what Zimmerman told his father and friends...after the incident took place...as reported by his father and friends...to the media.

But to explain my point... Getting hit in the head while your head is against an object, say like the cement, the cement will cause a lot more damage to that area of the head than to the area being hit. Both the area being hit and the area against the cement will take damage.

Now lets add in that the head being hit has no where to move (i.e.... snapping back when hit while on your feet), now I may not be a Dr. but I think it's safe to say that is likely to multiply the damage.

With Zimmerman, the kid was on top of him and not stopping. This means it had the potential to go too far because the kid didn't stop when he knocked Zim down.

Meanwhile, these two kids clearly walked away after the guy with the gun went down.

That is the major difference.

Like I said, the guy that punched the driver was clearly in the wrong.

There's a huge difference between accidentally cutting someone off and deliberately causing a potentially life threatening road hazard.

Of course, we have no way of knowing what actually happened before the camera went on.

But, be that as it may, my gut tells me it wasn't some small little thing.

Getting his ass beat is not his stated reason for pulling his gun and never has been his stated reason...and is not his legal defense at trial.

Of course you can be beaten to death, but 99.9% of the time fist fights end with both parties still living.

How is one to know how far the fight is going to go? That's part of the problem because you don't know this when the fight starts, and after the first few solid rounds land you aren't thinking straight, adrenaline kicks in, and your instincts focus only on survival.

In both of these two examples this is not life threatening in either way. We can't start shit with people, then pull out a gun and shoot people dead when you get your ass beat down. In the case of Zimmerman the police were already enroute, and multiple people had heard his calls for help... Seconds after the shooting witnesses had arrived on the scene to help - Zimmerman was asking them to "restrain" Martin.

Zimmerman was a fist fight that ended with a seventeen year old getting shot and killed.

That video didn't show a shooting, but afterwards the guy shot out the rear window of the two guy's truck and played the 911 call about it on the news.
