Actually you are not quite correct. They say that MQ-5B was not shot down, but it was simple intercepted (taken under control) and landed by this funny-looking toy: http://www.rusarmy.com/pvo/pvo_vvs/i...r_avtobaza.jpg As about the reasons... Russia absolutely legally has military bases in Crimea and course it can shot down or intercept any flying objects inside the security zones. I thought this is obvious :winkwink: You also said that Ukraine was invaded by Russian army. Please tell me when and how exactly did it happen? |

There is written on the first big banner: "For Russia and Ukraine without Putin".

Drones are cool while they are being used against stone-age Afghans or US civilians suspected in terrorism, but they become useless against the enemy that can gain control over them. Human pilots are still irreplaceable :2 cents:

Around 93% of voters in Crimea have backed joining Russia and seceding from Ukraine. Turnout 80%. I guess this is called democracy.

Rather, he is anxious to create a buffer of compliant states around his country, argues Mr. Gaddy." |

The Ukraine has a strategic role for both Russian economics and military purposes (Crimea is an unsinkable aircraft carrier in Black Sea). Russian gas pipelines to EU are also go through the Ukraine. So at least, there is a reason. But what's about Baltic Countries? Tell me please any reason to get them back? To feed them all from our pockets? |

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/...A221J520140303 Strange people live in pobaltic countries.... Thats how West and Baltic countries think nowadays and most western political science analysts too as I told you: http://www.theguardian.com/commentis...nctions-russia "It has been no secret that, since he came to power, Putin's strategic objective has been to reassert Russian control over its so-called near abroad. Since the days of Peter the Great, Russia has assumed that its own security has required it to control all the territory around its own borders. Putin's objectives are not limited to Crimea. He has a passion to bring the whole of Ukraine under the ultimate authority of Moscow while acknowledging only its nominal independence. But not just Ukraine. He finds equally unacceptable the independence of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. He showed, in 2008, similar contempt for the independence of Georgia." Of course, according Putin fans its not true at all... |

So, if the WHOLE of Ukraine has a referendum and votes to join Russia, now THAT would be democracy. This is Hitler-style land grab, nothing more, nothing less! |

Russia has been doing no more than other Imperial powers. The cries of foul sound hollow from countries that separated Northern Ireland from Ireland, had massive empires themselves. Broke away Kosova from Serbia. Supported the US invasions of Vietnam, Cambodia, Oman Laos, Angola, Iran, Libya, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Grenada, Honduras , Boliva, Somalia, Bosnia, Haiti, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, to name only a few....
The EU and the US have funded and supported nationalist movements against Russia ever since Pres Wilson policy at the end of WW1 in response to the Russian Revolution. Before that they were Imperial Russia's ally. Nationalism and hatred of a countries neighbours is not the answer to the divisions of wealth and power in the world. |

That's textbook deflection tactic right there: http://changingminds.org/techniques/...deflection.htm "I wasn't the only one. Everybody else does it too." If if others have done it, that all of a sudden makes it OK? Not the way I see it. |
