Nope, this is called land-grab. Democracy is when the majority in a country as in the WHOLE country votes, makes a decision, and acts on it.

So, if the WHOLE of Ukraine has a referendum and votes to join Russia, now THAT would be democracy. This is Hitler-style land grab, nothing more, nothing less!

Russia has been doing no more than other Imperial powers. The cries of foul sound hollow from countries that separated Northern Ireland from Ireland, had massive empires themselves. Broke away Kosova from Serbia. Supported the US invasions of Vietnam, Cambodia, Oman Laos, Angola, Iran, Libya, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Grenada, Honduras , Boliva, Somalia, Bosnia, Haiti, Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, to name only a few....

The EU and the US have funded and supported nationalist movements against Russia ever since Pres Wilson policy at the end of WW1 in response to the Russian Revolution.

Before that they were Imperial Russia's ally.

Nationalism and hatred of a countries neighbours is not the answer to the divisions of wealth and power in the world.
