I believe the question was regarding the classic TGPs and gallery submission.

TGP = thumbnail gallery post

sex.com is a pinboard

The classic TGPs are dinosaurs, the concept of submitting a picture gallery was made because of high bw/hosting costs and the current trends are totally different. BW is cheap and tubes offer 100% better experience for surfers, pics, videos, social features ..

Yeah sure some of them can still bring a sale or two here and there, but the question is , if it's worth my time and effort. In most cases, no.

Picture sites/blogs can still be profitable especially those oriented on softcore/erotic, but most people want to watch movies too and that's why tubes are so popular.

I think with tgp's you get the older surfers who are buyers. I would bet a large number of tube surfers arent even old enough to have credit card.

If you have a TGP with 100,000 bookmarked surfers and 500,000 plus a day trade, turn it into a tube and watch how the money rolls in.

TGPs aren't dead, but it look like most if not all scripts are.

Vanilla TGP - Dead (doesn't work with PHP 5.3)

TGPX - Dead (having some of issues with PHP 5.3.3 and the unofficial support forum seems to be abandoned).

Smart-Thumbs - Still alive I think but support is slow.

KVS - Just got aware of this recently, but the feature to create a TGP site is only included in the most expensive version. Support is great and fast though.

SmartCJ - Mainly a tradescript but with build-in rotator. Don't have experience with this or if support is still alive, but no updates for a year according to their webpage.

Any other options out there or what do people use today for their new TGPs?

Hows it not worth the time, if you build galleries regularly google loves you, But I get your point, It just doesn't leave out that tgps if they updated regularly and have fresh content do well both with google and the surfer, I personally prefer to visit tubes but I cant sit here as Im growing all the time for two - three year snow and say there dead. I get content from members area too so my surfers are happy and share my urls as well. If more people knew, there would be more traffic in picture sites. I do have one at 100k and growing monthly.

If there was PM id send it to you, and please, anyone else dont contact me wondering what site it is.

I have noticed you multiple posts about "TGP still alive" during long period of time.

Just want to ask how you do that? Any step by step manual, you personal blog with instructions? I have few dead TGP and I failed to gain more than 3-4K of traffic few times.

Thank you.

Well cirtin Niche are pretty much dead, If you build a tgp like that way we all use to and then just host the content and write a title, and description for the surfer in the gallery plus the meta title. Make sure is all unique and not the description form the sponsor. Set all spider and se traffic to 100%, build build build, Im working on the milf and busty niche atm but there not many left where people are available to get in contact with.

Teen and Erotic are the easy'est niche to break into. Make sure you have a real server, a dedicated box, to many of these half assers use shared hosting.

DONT TRADE LINKS, some may be ok, but let that all handle naturally, My biggest site with 35k of se a day never once did a trade or did I put or pay for links to go up.

Most importantly is to build everyday new galleries. I use both fhg and my own, when the galleries that rise to the top since I use Smart thumbs and sort them always by CTR, I build those.

One last thing, yes, you would most likely if not penalties have been applied be better off using a domain with age, but my main site like I mentioned above is not even 2 years old

I apologize for the worst grammar skills on GFY ;)

dehash 05-23-2014 07:34 AM

Thank you. How do you start up new TGP? You need traffic to start a trade with another webmaster...you buy it?

punaniman 12-20-2014 12:34 PM

I know this is kinda late but, i have to agree TGP's are not dead!! I have a few and they are doing well.

MPGdevil 12-20-2014 12:47 PM

26.47% fools on this board.

artwilliams 12-20-2014 01:12 PM

TGPs are not dead. If you can modify a Wordpress template you can make a blog post look like a gallery. Many TGP take unmodified blog posts too.

faxxaff 12-20-2014 07:12 PM

There have always been good and bad ways to run TGPs. The bad and lazy ways are outdated and won't work. Putting some effort into a TGP and run it professionally in a micro niche still works acceptable.

fappingJack 12-20-2014 07:21 PM

they're still around.

I think there's too much emphasis on different site types.

Do surfers make such clear distinctions between TGPs, tubes, pinboards etc? They just want what they think is hot, and most newer surfers probably don't even know what TGPs are.

The reason why tgp are "dead" is simply beacuse search engine rankings was overrun by tubes.Concept itself it is still fine, you just need to get traffic.
