Vietnam was never actually declared a war...but the Pentagon officially used the term POW back then. |

Yes we did call them that, even though it was just " a police action". I wish I had our families old POW-MIA scrapbook, flag, and some of the other related items. I, also, had some VVAW pins and booklets from the rallies I attended back then, lost those in FL to Charlie, the hurricane not NVA/VC. McCain should be thankful he was not exposed to the defoliants used then, I am starting to lose a lot of friends to vascular disorders now. Thanks for not lumping me into a particular group. |

Lol! You're pathetic. Read it again Bergdahl is not classified as a deserter. http://www.stripes.com/news/who-is-b...gdahl-1.286405 You said he was classified as a deserter, and you based your entire hate-filled rant on it. You were wrong. Again. Like you always are. On everything. |

I enjoy multi-quotes and well though out answers.
I was wondering how he knows about your dick cheese though, it should be a point of concern, that he knows not that you have it. Use your ointment and unplug your mic and cam, stop using chrome also.:thumbsup :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |

Like Cheese dick calling me a racist, where the fuck did that come from and is that the best he can do? WDF doesn't seem to know what a cheese dick is, he should look it up. I wonder if he knows how? Maybe he knows what spotted dick is? Limited imagination at best! LOL Anyways, they always do this, this is how all liberal attacks happen. Ok, well the Republicans do it too, but nearly as bad. But got to love these idiots, because I don't like the president, they call me names right out of the gate, they can't debate it, they merely attack. Anyways haters, keep it going, I'll be back next week, Off to Washington state for a few days. Bringing our passports, might drive up to Canada where they use to play Hockey! |

Vendzilla seems to hate a lot of people. Blacks, vets....

But someone did, and you didn't address it at all just because of who did it.
Now that someone has point for point rebutted your OP, it would be interesting to hear your take on his arguments. Talking about who it was or past debates or ignore lists is just boring. You want to debate the OP? Cool, go for it. Quote:

Did Bergdahl "walk-off" or leave his post? YES. Did Bergdahl "desert"? Unknown at this point...can only be answered once the military determines Bergdahl's state-of-mind when he walked off. |

No Vendzilla, it's not. You said this: Quote:

Mark, you and Rachel Maddow aren't exactly "in the know" on this.
I have no clue if the guy deserted...I wouldn't blame him if he did. We had no business over there at all. Here is the latest info I found when googling him. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...book/10356075/ Probably best for everyone (including Vendzilla) to withhold judgement until the military makes a decision on him. I would say that IF he turns out to be a deserter...he should be executed because 6 other men DIED looking for him. If it turns out that he's NOT a deserter...let's celebrate him! We should all just wait and see. By the way, everytime I watch Rachel Maddow's show...she is "reporting" on what some Republican is saying. Not exactly reporting the news. And not exactly being a watchdog on the govt. (which is the job of the free press). Smirking and laughing and acting elitist while looking for ways to make fun of people she disagrees with isn't a real reporter. It's more like what you do on GFY. lol |

I watch Ed Shultz too but to me he's just the opposite of Rachael. He is too passionate / aggressive / something / something in the way that he talks. It can be entertaining sometimes but every once in a while, he makes me question what he's saying. Its rare, but still. Quote:

I feel compelled to point out that nobody died because of him. Soldiers died in the performance of their duties, period. And if we are sitting here thinking that his unit didn't know all of the details about him before launching rescue missions and all that, then maybe something is wrong with us. Simplest answer is often true.

So... much... spin...
Look, we all know that anything done by this administration will be painted in the worst possible light by the right, no matter if they would have done the same in their place (and then painted it in the best possible light). It's so predictable at this point. This reminds me of the Pat Tillman saga in reverse. Remember him? All-American safety at Arizona State, starter for the Cardinals in the NFL, walked away from millions of $$ to join the Army Rangers and fight in Afghanistan. Good looking dude in a muscular granite-jaw sort of way, looked like a GI Joe character. Then he gets killed in combat. The administration releases that it was a heroic death in battle with the Taliban and the media lap it up like a Japanese pornstar in a bukkake scene. He was trumpeted around as a sort of propaganda piece - Coulter, Hannity, all the usual suspects, kept invoking him as a symbol of what was good and necessary about our bullshit wars, tons of flag-waving. Ann Coulter creamed her panties rhapsodizing about him: "virtuous, pure, masculine like only an American male can be". He was on Fox 24/7, built into this legend of a Right Wing American Hero. Then a funny thing happens. Some of the "facts" about his death didn't quite line up. Finally it comes out - he was gunned down by his own unit in a confusing event characterized by gross incompetence. It was a full-blown coverup by the army, aided and abetted by the right wing media and talking heads. It comes out he was an avowed atheist, thought the Iraq war was completely illegal, his favorite writer was Noam fucking Chomsky, and supposedly predicted in the event of his death they'd "parade me through the streets". The complete opposite of the legend created by the right wing, I dunno if anyone remembers just how blatantly they used him as a tool and a rallying cry. Now Bergdahl ain't no Pat Tillman, that is for sure. He sounds like an unstable guy who walked away from his unit and probably had trouble beforehand too, certainly wasn't too popular with his platoon-mates. There are guys like this in every war and we never intentionally leave them to rot and die in captivity if we can help it. We get them back, there's an investigation, and if further punishment is warranted they'll get it. There are literally thousands of deserters each year during these last two wars. There were over 50,000 during WW2. Some people are just not cut out for a combat zone, and some that originally were eventually crack under pressure or disillusionment. It happens all the fucking time. Here's a little further context for Bergdahl's platoon for those curious, to me it sounds like there was a serious leadership and organization problem across the board there. Was not a tightly run ship: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/06/08/us...-troubles.html My point is that no matter what, shit will get spun to the millionth degree, and part of the problem is people like Vendzilla just parroting stuff before all the facts have come out, and parroting other nonsense just pulled out of his (or O'Reilly's, etc) ass because it fits his ideology. "We don't negotiate with terrorists" "He's a hostage not a POW" and so forth. It's like clockwork. |
Great post!:thumbsup
