funny texas bbq story- i took this gal to a bbq joint in pasadena, tx once, they had these small furry bags hanging all around the cash register, my gal friend got busy stroking one real good and asked the cashier what they were as she caressed the bag.

Van Nuys california has Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ

This from their website, I love the place, only eat there a few times a year

Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ was built in 1969 by Johnny Greene, a former Piggly Wiggly delivery boy from Texas.
He was such a big guy that his wife said you're not a Piggly Wiggly but a Hogly Wogly. He later became a pharmacologist.
Hence, the name Dr. Hogly Wogly's Tyler Texas BBQ.
Most of the cooks have been working at this valley institution for over 20 years. Not much has changed and our menu is
relatively simple. No burgers, No salads... just focus on making the best BBQ ever. I hope you all come and visit us

we attended this in Huntington Beach a couple weeks ago, I tell ya, some fucking real good brisket from some OC teams! Was chatting with several of the brisket bbqers about their briskets specifically, they all said the same thing: the secret is the meat, not the sauce.
