That stupidity and the whole arrogance that emanates from many apple fans (we are better than you!) is probably what causes some people to hate them.

*shrug*

My phone nor computer define who I am. But it does define my productivity, which has skyrocketed since leaving Windows after 10 years, and Linux after 2.

Also I've never stood in line to get any of my stuff.

Arrogance goes both ways. :2 cents:

I don't get it. :)

I really like their products but can no longer justify their prices.

$900 for a basic laptop without any frills?

Seems absurd to me.

I agree, why would I pay $70,000 for a car that I can get for $16,000?

I've never said I am any better. I never said Android is better.

Cell phones are cell phones. They do the same exact things. Exactly. They all make phone calls, take pictures, take videos, send texts, and run the same exact apps.

Funny thread.

Im a Mac guy overal.

But I do have to agree that its a "Sand Boxed" system and limited with what it can do if your a programmer or if your into serious customization.

But for me; I edit video, edit pics, do graphics, run my businesses, check emails, check GFY, etc.

I am the guy that pays for my programs, when I can easily get them hacked. But at the same time when I'm working on long time consuming projects, my Macs don't crash and always turn on. For me thats worth the over priced, inflated bullshit price I pay. That is also the same reason I pay for my programs. They are constantly getting updated and the don't crash.

I know I over pay and it sucks, but then again when I turn any of my Macs on, they work and I go straight to work.

Love my laptops, love my iMac, but I used to build out my PCs way back when, and the next Machine I buy, will probably be custom built running Mac OSX.

I think the fact Mac is "Sand Boxed" is a double edge sword. You get the reliability with its customization limitations, and the damn thing always works.

I think the root of the Mac vs. PC is: Mac Limitations, Vs. Solid reliability and PC's limitless customizations vs. Reliability issues.

PCs are for people that love the limitless customization, programers, people who hate Mac(Lack of costomazation), Nice specs for the buck, and people looking for a deal.

Mac are for Newbies, people that who hate and have had bad experiences with PCs, People absolutely need their machine to work when turned on, people who value reliability over Specs+and price, Girls and guys that like pretty things, Latte drinkers and a few others that slip my mind.

Me I personally fall into the "I need my shit to work when I turn it on".

I value reliability over Specs, price, customization and I also drink Lattes. lol

I keep hearing "I've been with PCs for years, but after switch to Apple things just works " or "When I switched to Mac my productivity skyrocketed".

Now ís it the 1.5+ billion Windows users (90%) that must clearly all be unproductive masochists, who just love the daily battle with their hardware and software.. OR.. could it be that there are ~6% who need a company to build them a stable hardware/software package solution which they in return must pay a lot extra for?

Isn't it mind-boggling that everone from enterprise to average joe are still on Windows if OS X and Macs are really SO superior. After 12 years you would think more people had finally seen the light.

What I don't like about Apple.

- Their arrogance and holy, self-righteous attitude.
- Their methods to take existing technology and present it as their own invention.
- Their ways trying to be your parent.
- Their prices.

I saw a stat the other day that said 70% of the developers in Silicon Valley are running Mac.

Now I'm not saying that nerds know everything, but it's something to think about?

I don't recall the exact article, but the following Google search brings up many results that suggest Mac is the predominant one with developers in Silicon Valley: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...c+or+Windo ws

I could careless what OS someone likes for their phone or PC. It doesn't affect me in any way.

You can run OSX on a hackintosh if you like the OS but not the price, MAC's don't run on special hardware sprinkled in pixie dust. .. Not everything can run OSX but for example my old Acer Aspire 4745G - Can run OSX, Ubuntu, Win7/8 etc

I've used OSX and I didn't like the OS, it's a personal choice.
Same goes for the phone,... it's just choice...

What I can do without is just about every Mac user telling me how advanced and great their system/phone etc... is... Or having them list feature after feature that everything else can do. Almost like they need validation or justification.

This very thread is an example of this... Has there ever been in all the time GFY has been around 1 thread asking why MAC users hate windows/linux? How many have there been of people asking why people don't like MACs/Apple?

I'll end this by asking 1 simple question....
Why do "some MAC users" act like they are a vegan at a BBQ needing to tell everyone how bad meat is... I don't stand at the salad bar telling you how great meat is...

To build an app for IOS (iphone/Ipad) you must have a MAC to run the SDK...

To build for Android you can do so using the SDK on a MAC or nonMAC...

A majority of sites (main stream) have related apps for their websites, (both ISO and Droid based apps)
Add to that a large stand alone app development push.

So it would make sense that developers more and more are using MACs...
Would you want to explain to your client or VC that you can't build them an app of both Android and IOS, not because of your skill set, but because you simply can't run the SDK.
