What's the profit of having high GDP is your government spend all that money to military-related shit instead of spending it to its own citizens (medicine, education)? P.S. GDP is just a national product (which is a pretty controversial thing because all countries calculate it using their own formulas), divided by the number of citizens. So if 1/3 of the citizens have a lack of healthcare, then there is something very-very wrong with their country :2 cents:

As about villages. They are all almost dead in Russia (nobody wants to live there). Only about 6% of Russians live in villages (for a comparison, more than 610 thousands of Americans are homeless, BTW ;)). And this percent is lesser and lesser every year. So only an idiot would consider village "hospitals" as an example of typical Russian clinic. But you are an American and it's excusable for you :)
