To be fair, i felt bad for my original remark... er.. well, at least i felt like he was entitled to lash out a bit. So i kinda was nice and let him. BUt then he started making all these threats. Even then I sort of let him do it and tried to play it down to allow him to calm down - as i felt he was right to be upset. The funny thing was that he took that as weakness and kept trying to bluff like he was a bad ass. The more i tried to allow him to let off steam, the more he started getting hostile because he thought i was afraid of him.

It was my intention to go to Vegas but the gods honest truth is that I was training and I showed the thread to everyone and said "i'm going to Vegas, i need one guy to go with him" and showed the thread and everyone just looked at my like i was retarded. I showed them a pic of Vendzilla and everyone became disgusted with me and I felt incredibly ashamed at the idea that i'd even entertained the notion of going to Vegas to fight a guy who clearly has no clue at all what fighting is or how to fight... and wants to fight someone who 230lbs, pretty jacked, 5'10" and is obsessed with boxing and muay thai and does little else during the day.

Because it was actually on the schedule for internet and that Dave guy said he got a gym/ring etc i was definitely going. Once i saw they removed it from the schedule, i was a bit relieved because it really wasn't appropriate or fair to actually fight this guy who has no experience or training. He kept trying to bluff as i said "ok, lets do it" insisting on no judges, no ring, no gloves and all kinds of funny stuff thinking i'd back down and he kept ratcheting up the bizarre rhetoric once he realized i wouldn't.

(btw...he kept saying "MMA Fighter" and i never once suggested anything like that)

But yeah, he clearly thinks he's a tough guy and its obviously laughable.

This award is well deserving he has years and years of thinking he is some tough guy. Meanwhile everyone else views him as over weight and unstable.

Anyone who actually fights or trains, can instantly spot someone who has no clue. It's immediately clear that he has no clue.

The funny part was that when i wasn't responding to him directly about fighting initially with equal rhetoric, he kept ratcheting it up like he thought I was scared or something and his threats/remarks got increasingly bizarre and absurd.... like he was practicing a skit for a comedy show.

I really busy and off the boards a couple days and happened to read that thread again at the time and then i just felt kinda bad for him. To be that old and to be that insecure is just sad. I can't imagine what it would be like to live every day feeling like i'm not good enough, not smart enough, not funny enough, not in shape enough, not strong enough, not tough enough etc etc etc. It has to be terrible and its certainly a horrible way to live.

and for the record, i did not go to Phoenix with some intention of actually meeting Brassmonkey or fighting him. Of course, i would have no problem saying anything to his face but I wasn't looking for a showdown. I strongly suspected things would play out as they did. He just happened to say something like "all of you guys are too much of a bitch to say that to my face" and it was comical that i knew he lives in Phoenix and that I was going ot be there in 2 days.

In his head he has like this Mortal Kombat scenario fight to the death where he is ripping out arms from sockets and pulling out your heart from your chest.

He even goes as far to call himself "Giant" like he is part of some WWE routine. He was probably playing his favorite hard rock song in his head the entire time while posting like it was his theme music.

Yeah, basically he seems to thinks that throwing a solid, fast jab, cross, uppercut, hooks, having good footwork, head movement, fluid/smooth combinations and being able to fight from both stances is somehow like mortal kombat and throwing glowing balls of "Chi" and always having a Finishing Move.

He mentioned martial arts training. Most schools / disciplines are the same. They train by kicking and punching the air, pretending to kick and punch each other (with no real contact) and then walk away thinking they are basically ready for a title shot... in spite of having no idea what its like to stand in front of someone who not only wants to hurt you, but has the skills to do it in a 100 different ways and the ability to easily move out of the way of anything you throw.
