Apple probably will fade away eventually. People have device saturation and the people in other countries that don't have devices aren't going to pay premium for iOS. Android continues to get better too and is much more common.
I like Apple, between the 2 iPads I have, iPhone 6s, iMac, Macbook Air; they make great products.

this is just a guess but figure maybe he knew it would be publicized because of the choice of location? like I wrote earlier suicides tend not to be publicized due to copycats, this one was because of where it occurred. obv don't know what was in the guy's head (other than a bullet) but suicide tends to be a pretty selfish act anyways, so he prob wasn't thinking about the pain all the press would cause to his loved ones.
